Alvar Aalto's Viipuri Library in Vyborg, Russia, built between 1927 and 1935, has recently been restored and the committee responsible for the restoration work has been awarded The World Monuments Fund/Knoll Modernism Prize. This modern landmark features some of Aalto's trademark design elements such as the sky-lighted roof, undulating wooden ceilings and a glass-enclosed staircase.

François Beaurain was born in Bordeaux, France in 1976. Francois is a self-taught and multifaceted artist working predominantly as a photographer, but he sometimes extends to drawing, collages and sculptures. Francois is mostly known for his animated gifs project “Monrovia animated” which is part of the “Making Africa” exhibition by Vitra and Guggenheim Bilbao. Last year Sagmeister & Walsh created 3d environments inspired by 2d pop art paintings with the help of body painter Anastasia Durasova and set builds by Sing-Sing. This year, along with the same team, they brought psychedelic and constructivist worlds to life, complete with trippy optical illusions and a pink painted horse. Images will be on billboards, in magazines, newspapers, and in stores across the middle east at Aizone stores.
