Sasha Grebenyuk Art

February 21, 2022 by Arseny Vesnin in 2022, Art, Illustration, Portfolios, Ukraine
@graph0man

Kyiv-based self-taught artist Sasha Grebenyuk shares beautiful art supported with the statement

“Art is the interweaving of events and a person experiencing them. And through these relationships, through the search for an answer to the question of who this Other is, life, connection, and beauty manifest. The most important thing is the space between me and the Other. Meeting with another is always an event, an opportunity to experience it together as equals.”

Relationships of men and objects. While forming space, men create and surround themselves with product designs, objects, that have always been a major source of influence of humane conscience, mood, behaviour and attitude. Lightness of Being comes through the awareness of one's purpose.

Kofta is the independent couture studio specializing in the art of leather craft using futuristic technics. Based in Ukraine since 2010 the studio carry out unique projects and seasonal collections from start to finish, allowing them to be designed, developed and produced in-house. In the last few years, kofta won numerous art&fashion contests (A’Design 2016, Red Dot 2018 to name few) and was exhibited in K11 Gallery in Shanghai for the prestigious “BAGISM” exhibition.

Objects of kofta studio would be found at the intersection of art and applied science. Accomplished by using the futuristic techniques such as 3D-modeling/-printing/-cutting mixed with the traditional leather craft methods like molding, drying, straining, hand painting etc., they provide an independently fresh view at the manufacturing process, which is carried out entirely in-studio by kofta team.

Anatolik Belikov

September 18, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Portfolios, Ukraine

Digital artist Anatolik Belikov believes that the key to understanding of our fractured and disturbing reality could be found in our vision and how things surrounding us look like. Before discovering CGI, Belikov studied chemistry, cycling through dozens of jobs before finding his passion for 3D storytelling. He has since worked for clients such as Adidas, Burberry, and Kenzo, although his personal work stands apart from his sleek commercial briefs.

“In his own art, Belikov delves into flaws and imperfections, exploring objects which are mundane, dusty, or slightly damaged and working out how they could exist in the CGI universe. The darker underlying currents of our culture are also ruthlessly exposed. In the music video for Ukrainian artist Youra, Belikov created a suffocating burning response to the war in Ukraine and our general numbness to violence.”

Viktor Pyatkin and his imaginary world

September 11, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Illustration, Ukraine, Portfolios

I personally believe some if not many artists and illustrators live 24/7 in their imaginary worlds. Viktor Pyatkin is not an exclusion but a real proof of this concept, take a look at characters and visual stories coming straight out of his head

Lena Pogrebnaya Photography

March 05, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Photography, Portfolios, Ukraine

Lena Pogrebnaya was born in Odessa, Ukraine. She first fell for photography in 2009 while studying at Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. After graduating in 2011 Lena continued her photographic exploration.  Brutalist architecture of the 50s and 70s quickly became Pogrebnaya’s main inspiration. The essence of her projects lies in monumental constructions featuring concrete, granite, decorative tiles of multiple colors and… people merged with the aesthetics.

pogrebnaya-3.jpg

pogrebnaya-1.jpg

Her artistic investigation goes beyond conventional approach that nature and industrial objects should be opposed. For Lena Pogrebnaya architectural forms are part of the nature — being creations of people, nature’s products themselves. In her “nature creating nature” universe a human being feels harmony both in the wild and urban environment. Her models looks dignified in any site, and yet they are simply a unit of the beautiful surrounding just like everything else in the picture.

SS20 INERTIA by kofta

December 13, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Fashion, Portfolios, Ukraine, Design

“Impulse embodied in objects sets in motion the imagination, which in turn makes it possible to get in touch with the beginning and feel the primary motive. Continuity does not give rise to cyclicality, but opens up new things without breaking the tradition.“

Designer Konstantin Kofta is back with his new collection of hi-end leather bags INERTIA SS20. As stated by his studio - “We want to allow the viewer to gain different perspective on familiar things through synergizing with our artwork. Our bags serve as a canvas for expressing our creative intentions through properties that they did not initially possess, endowing them with ability to bring aesthetic pleasure, while maintaining functionality.”

INNAN - Red Obsession

October 03, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Design, Motioncollector, France, Ukraine

A portrait of Inna, muse, artist and designer.

Ukranian-born and Berlin-based, Inna draws on her life, the people she meets, the places she visits and the world around her, to create simple jewellery in bold, timeless metal, precious and semi-precious stones.

From the Brutalism of the Soviet-style architecture she remembers from her childhood, to the rhythms of modern-day Berlin and Paris, Inna develops her identity.

In her subterranean Berlin workshop, she designs and hand crafts her pieces. From conception to creation, designing to finishing, Inna focuses on simplicity, luxury and realizing the hidden potential of form, immortalizing memories and moments in metal. From one-off bespoke pieces, including engagement and wedding rings to complete collections, she sells online, in selected outlets worldwide and has been exhibited at Paris Fashion Week for four consecutive years.

Max Cooper Identity by Eugene Pylinsky

January 03, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Art, Motioncollector, Ukraine, Portfolios, 2019

A rising star - new media artist Eugene Pylinsky made a tribute to one of his digital art idol - Max Cooper whom we have been following for a decade. The further collaboration of two strong parties released a project called “Identity” where Eugene reflected on the informational field that shapes both their personalities and creativity.

“I was trying to find balance between web and live versions of the video. That’s why I decided to generate strong graphics, like barcode and qr code, in my compositions, with characters melting and disappearing in it. I paid much attention to synchronise the music with graphics to deliver intensity, atmosphere.”
