Homage ISSEY MIYAKE 1992 Olympics Uniform

Studio Anatolik has resurrected a piece of Olympic design history—the Lithuanian national team uniform Issey Miyake originally created for the 1992 Barcelona Games.

The original commission came at a charged moment: Lithuania had just regained independence, and Miyake's designs were captured in promotional imagery shot by Irving Penn. An image of the uniform sat in Anatolik's reference archive for years before the studio began reconstructing it in 2018, revisiting the project through its own visual language.

What started as interest in an archival fashion object became a reflection on connection — a Japanese designer, a newly independent Baltic state, Games hosted in Spain — between countries, generations and creative disciplines.

Anatolik Belikov Studio is a Paris-based creative studio and CGI production house led by artist and director Anatolii Belikov. The studio creates distinctive imagery and films for luxury and premium brands, bringing a personal artistic perspective to each project.

Pokras Lampas - Kazan Rooftop Calligraphy

Long time no Pokras. It’s been a while since our last encounter, and I am glad to cover his new giant piece again.

Pokras Lampas writes cities into existence — this time, in two languages at once.

The calligraphy artist has spent years scaling up letterforms to architectural proportions, but the rooftop of Barkli DAN Residence demanded something more than spectacle. Here, Russian and Tatar interweave across 177 square metres — three concepts, six words, two languages — each stroke a negotiation between heritage and horizon.

Three months of preparation, 14 days of painting. A 15-metre circle of contemporary Cyrillic calligraphy, read best from above — a message written for the sky, or perhaps for the city looking back at itself.

The ARTphabet by CESS

César Cid turns the alphabet into a gallery of borrowed worlds.

The Madrid-based 3D artist, working as CESS Studio, has built The Artphabet, a complete set of 26 letters, each a digital sculpture channelling the visual universe of a different celebrated artist. Mondrian's rigid geometry, Dalí's melting surrealism, Basquiat's raw urgency, and Kusama's infinite dots.

What makes the project sing is Cid's refusal to simply texture a letter with someone else's style. Each character becomes a genuine object — form, colour, and material all transformed to inhabit that artist's world completely. The letter is merely the armature; the sculpture is the homage.

Dina Goldstein: Mistresspieces

Canadian photographer Dina Goldstein, known for her cult series Fallen Princesses, returns with MISTRESSPIECES — a sharp, cinematic dive into art history’s most iconic women.

In ten large-scale photographs, Goldstein pulls figures from the canon — the Madonnas, the muses, the myths — and drops them into today’s world of climate anxiety, AI mimicry, and quiet displacement. Each tableau feels like a scene from a darkly funny film that never existed: part Renaissance, part reality TV, entirely unsettling.

Goldstein has always used satire as a mirror, and here she turns it toward the history of the gaze itself. For centuries, male artists idealized the female form — Botticelli’s softness, Titian’s glow, Ingres’s precision — shaping beauty through desire. MISTRESSPIECES flips that script. These women are no longer passive subjects; they occupy the frame with full agency, confronting both the painter and the viewer.

What emerges is not just a retelling of art history, but a reclamation — a gallery of heroines reborn in a world they never asked to inherit.

In the heart of the Creative Quarter in Folkestone, at Eight Squared Gallery, there was Dark Tales, a contemporary art exhibition. Curator Irina Naumova invited six women artists to reflect on tales that continue to be told in modern society. The curator's idea was to reimagine the fairy tale as a personal mythology through different media. Featured photographs, paintings and objects represented beauty, nostalgia and self-expression.

In every darkness, there’s a light when the artist speaks. By reinterpreting the idea of the fairy tale as a timeless landscape of the mind, this exhibition aimed to showcase the bright voices of contemporary art that diminish the distinction between dream and myth, memory and imagination.

Natalia Alekna creates multifaceted collages with self-assertive women at the centre of the composition

Varvara Burtseva’s collage shows whimsical creatures that came from medieval times and were carefully brought into the contemporary context.

Natasha Antipova-Kaploukhaya shows her work with a man in a bright costume as if he came directly from a movie or a tale.

Daria Atamanovskaya proclaims a multi-layered statement about youth, femininity and post-Soviet melancholy. A bold play with the past, gender stereotypes and fashionable images in the featured photograph.

Gwen Grynfeld’s art practice runs through physical theatre, puppetry and painting. This show displays work on canvas about the resurrection of women's power.

Iryna Yauseyenka’s goats are fairy-tale creatures with detailed costumes and accessories.

The works we have shared by the artist Mika fall into a category that we could describe as post-crypto and post-Wi-Fi art. She blends elements of digital culture, technology, and modern life into physical or conceptual pieces that question the relationships between technology, symbolism, and daily objects.

Post-crypto art is generally developed after or in response to the rise of blockchain technology and the NFT market. Most works reflect the hangover or disillusionment from the previous promises of decentralisation, democratisation of wealth, or even "crypto utopia" we all had in 2021.
Mika's works seem to record an irony or judgment toward this ultra-modern, technology-marinated world, in which crypto art was promising to change but then primarily problematic.

Therefore, these objects in the images have an implicit dialogue with the viewer, an invitation to consider some thought about tradition—for instance, swords, tea bags, crosses—and modernity; what better examples than laptops, Bluetooth, or iPhone chargers?

Mika works are reflections upon the omni-presence of internet connectivity and how it is affecting the physical world. In post-WiFi art, a common theme is a disconnect between virtual and real-world interactions, critiquing the reliance on constant online presence.

Mika invites deep reflection on the state of modernity through her work, critiquing or accepting the role technology plays in redefining our relationship to power, comfort, connectivity, and even spirituality. In the post-crypto, post-WiFi era, as we call it, these works toy with the absurdities of modern life and digital reliance, pushing back against the elevation of mundane or obsolete symbols to objects of reflection.

What would the Sagrada Familia look like if it was finished? Imagine a full circle Colosseum... Dutch artist duo DRIFT has been working to improve their drone software to create real-life, life-size renders to visualise the improbable.

DRIFT works together with a multi-disciplinary team of 64 on aerial sculptures, installations and performances. All individual artworks have the ability to transform spaces. The confined parameters of a museum or a gallery does not always do justice to a body of work, rather it often comes to its potential in the public sphere or through architecture.

In 2017 DRIFT made their first performative art installation named Franchise Freedom. This drone show premiered at Art Basel Miami 2017, followed by performances all over the world. Besides this performative art installation DRIFT produced many more, with which the world is well known.

In collaboration with the company Drone Stories and Nova Skystories, DRIFT has used their drone technology since 2020 to reimagine the future of architecture. It is the aim to assist architects to bring their future projects to reality in a mesmerising yet sustainable way, visualising what this life size would look like.

"A New Nature" contemplates the future of what is commonly referred to in Western culture as Nature through scenes that are both cautionary and celebratory. The works in A New Nature do not depict a future that is a return to the pastoral and bucolic landscape, but neither is it a future of doom and gloom. Instead, these works reveal environments that are augmented with technology, for better or worse, and that are full of mystery suggesting and normalizing images of a strange hybrid, and at times abject, planetary system of technology-organisms.

Analogue, abstract and grotesque artist Jana Stýblová shares her vision

“Each piece I create embodies the goal of merging the analogue/physical and digital. I begin a new piece by first making a painting on canvas with acrylic paint, spray paint and occasionally other chemicals. While the paint is still wet and malleable, I photograph the canvas both regularly and at a macro scale, revealing some of the more alien details the paint may create by interacting with itself. Once I have a set of sometimes hundreds of photos, I select the ones that strike me as most otherworldly or ones that would work well as a landscape foundation.”

”I bring these photographs into Photoshop and begin building, layering, cutting and seaming—slowly playing with density to reveal something that doesn't look paint-like at all. Often I will add gradients at this stage before running this preliminary collage through a pixel sorting bit of code in Processing. Pixel sorting is a technique invented by Kim Asendorf in 2010—I like to work with analogue methods, but have a deep respect and awe of code, combining the two in the NFT / Digital Art space is what, to me, solidifies the art as a digital work, rather than physical. “
