Davide D'Elia produces work that often re-values modern aesthetic graphic terminology by presenting itself beyond object and objectivity, by which he obtains a reasoning that examines the concepts of time and the flow of time. His recent Antivegetativa installation (antivegetative, the name in Italian of anti-fouling paint) is composed of paint, a chair, a buoy and nineteen paintings from old cellars, flea markets, antique shops and junkyards of Rome.
The clothing of the future might be grown in the lab, not sewn in a factory. A new set of clothes from MIT Media Lab's Tangible Media Group started life in a flask. By printing bacteria into fabric, it's possible to make clothes that are partially alive—and that can respond to the outside world. It's smart clothing, but without any electronics.
In a prototype called Second Skin, researchers made bacteria-powered athletic wear that naturally opens and closes tiny flaps to help you cool off while you're running or doing yoga.

The series, Diovadiova Chrome, investigates immortality. The labor-intensive process involves making a mold of each model’s face, reworking the cast plaster sculpture, producing a version in resin and adding a chrome layer with artificial eyelashes. The final sculpture then serves as a model for the hyper-realistic oil painting. This technique maintains the likeness qualities of portraiture while re-presenting a mask that serves as a conduit between the spiritual and natural world.
