Illuminated Cut Paper Light Boxes by Hari & Deepti

"Deepti Nair and Harikrishnan Panicker (known collectively as Hari & Deepti) are an artist couple who create paper cut light boxes. Each diorama is made from layers of cut watercolor paper placed inside a shadow box and is lit from behind with flexible LED light strips. The small visual narratives depicted in each work often play off aspects of light including stars, flames, fireflies, and planets." via Colossal

Sam Alive photography

Born in Taiwan and trapped in New York City photographer Sam Alive has a natural talent for capturing beautiful moments of his life that one can call routine. His personal online playgrounds like Flickr, Tumblr, Facebook and Instagram are full of awesome moments but personally we liked his latest series of mobile photography "Through the Phone" where he uses his iPhone to capture landscapes and scenes through a digital lens.

Thom Puckey

One of the leading contemporary sculptor Thom Puckey released few new provocative works in 2013. The most of his marble objects are the individual female figures, young and completely or partially nude, are invariably and disquietingly accompanied by the presence of modern weaponry. The message is strong and the content is tough, you might either get or not into the subject of his works.

Smartwatch Concept

Gábor Balogh is a freelance designer from Hungary who, like many of us, wants an attractive, watch-like watch that just happens to be smart. The difference between Balogh and the rest of us is he went ahead and designed an interface he believes could enable regular watch designs to include a full bevy of smart features. https://www.behance.net/gallery/Smartwatch-Concept/14929833 The actual watch pictured in the mockups is almost incidental, as the concept simply takes the Swedish watchmaker Triwa's Havana timepiece (with the company's permission) and replaces its face with a circular display. This proposal is about interface paradigms, not product design. "In this concept the UI does not have a predefined style," says Balogh, "but it would match the housing. Only the navigational patterns have to be taken into consideration."

Everything Illuminates by Jiang Pengyi

Jiang Pengyi‘s latest series, Everything Illuminates, sees the artist mixing fluorescent powders with liquid wax, and applying it to various, commonly-found objects.

According to the Hunan-Province-born artist’s statement, these images “suggest the artist’s changing focus back to original form and shape, at the same time reflect his current state of mind.”
