Loop by Stuart Langfield

January 28, 2021 by Arseny Vesnin in 2021, Canada, Motioncollector, Portfolios, United Kingdom
@stuartlangfield

An immersive sci-fi short by writer-director Stuart Langfield. “Loop” centres around a reclusive former tech CEO’s quest to teach AI how to experience and process true human emotions. However these ’emotion experiments’ involve a series of scripted scenarios that seem to do more to call basic humanity into question as the film blurs the lines between drama and sci-fi, human and machine, real and artificial.

“Loop is an artistic exploration of a simple hypothesis: emotion cannot be programmed, it must be felt and experienced to be real. I started exploring this concept while observing my young son discover and display new emotions through his own direct experience and contact with others. He was learning to process the feelings of anger, joy, disappointment, sadness, and I found this progression of maturity fascinating and insightful. I started to question whether replicating an emotive incident could result in a similar reaction every time and, if so, could we program a machine to feel?”

MCR_XPRMNT+SND by Azamat Akhmadbaev

January 07, 2021 by Arseny Vesnin in 2021, Digital Art, Motioncollector, Portfolios, Russia, United Kingdom, NFT Art
@azamatakhmadbaev

Digital Decade resident, artist Azamat Akhmadbaev dropped a personal release on Sedition Art Platform, London.

MCR_XPRMNT+SND

This series of video artworks is a metaphysical trip to another reality between our vision and perception. In accordance with the postulates of postmodernism and legacy of Derrida, the artist plays with the language of color, providing the opportunity to rethink our links with the current world through kitsch and low fidelity. Macro video recording and experimental sounds in videos are 'entry points' to the new stage of postmodernism where a viewer can melt a metaphysical body and disappear to leave marks in the internal world.

The collection name is derived from the words "macro", "experiment" and "sound".

WARNING: These videos have been identified to potentially trigger seizures for people with photosensitive epilepsy. Viewer discretion is advised.

MINI Vision Urbanaut #NextGen

November 27, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Cars, Design, United Kingdom

“Adopting a remote lifestyle seems more realistic than ever, and this week, MINI proved yet another way to do it. On Tuesday, the BMW-owned automotive marque unveiled an experimental ‘Vision Urbanaut’ car that imagines the living room to be on the go.”

“The concept, modeled like a small camper van, bears a metallic green exterior, light-up wheels, and gradient windows.
The Urbanaut extends upon MINI’s core of the “Clever Use of Space” with a dashboard that can be lowered into a daybed and front seats that swivel around, so the driver can relax or interact with other passengers when not steering the wheel.”

@nadavkander

Renowned portraiture and landscape photographer Nadav Kandar famous for his long-term projects depicting the power of nature and humanity. In his recent series “Solitude - Quietude - Contemplation” Nadav explores the solitude in the times of lockdown

“I think of a quote by Rilke: “Love your solitude and try to sing out with the pain it causes you.” So many feelings are at play and I was aware that in this quiet time there was a much bigger picture playing out, and it will continue to play out in our future.”

Grégoire A. Meyer for Digital Decade SE, 2020

August 04, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Decade, Digital Art, Portfolios, United Kingdom

Award-winning artist Grégoire A. Meyer creates digital illustrations that evoke thought-provoking reactions. His art examines the body in its extraordinary simplicity as a biological, digital and aesthetic organism. He captures the essence of fleeting moments, like a splash of water or a disintegrating face, and freezes them in time in objects that appear almost tangible. His works create a complex relationship between fact and fiction.

We’ve approached Grégoire this July to create an artwork for our Special Edition of @Digital.Decade reflecting on the current situation in the world. He came up with “When the drape falls” available for collecting on @seditionart for your digital home and mobile screens.

““The horse represents our last hope and challenges the concept of black as darkness and as the drapes slips off with its own weight - the future of humanity will be exposed..””

Sholto Blissett Art

August 03, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Art, Portfolios, United Kingdom

Sholto Blissett (b.1996) is an artist from Salisbury who lives and works in London.

Garden of Hubris I, water based emulsion on canvas on board

Garden of Hubris I, water based emulsion on canvas on board

Growing up surrounded by the ancient sites of Stonehenge and Avebury stone circle, Sholto has always had an interest in the fictions which societies create in an attempt to understand their place in nature. Hence, Sholto’s largescale, fictional landscapes explore humankind’s relation to nature. At first glance, he evokes the Kantian division of the human and nonhuman; yet his works then turn the viewer towards the Sublime realisation that these two notions are indivisible. Thus, the original, Kantian conception of the Sublime in which the human and natural are purported as separate are challenged by the alternative arguments emerging from the events of the Anthropocene. Sholto encourages the viewer to realise their – our – inescapable intertwinement with the natural world.
