May Parlar Photography

December 23, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Art, Germany, Photography, Portfolios

“Berlin-based photographer and video artist May Parlar often uses outdoor open spaces for her impressive fine art photographs. She creates performative images exploring the human condition and the nomadic experience of ‘being’ in constructed realities. The idea of self, time & memory, the notions of belonging and alienation are recurrent themes in her practice.”

“I work across different mediums such as photography, film, performance art, sculpture, installation, and landscape art; and all of which gets merged in the end and put together with a glue that for me is the camera”

Blair Martin Cahill

December 23, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Art, Craft, Portfolios, USA

“There are layers in all we see, do and present in our lives. These are the elements which we want to show, conceal, or perhaps only hint at. What is revealed is equally important to what is not, and both are needed to capture an entire vision.” - Blair Martin Cahil

Prostocrew Chaos Identity by Roma Erohnovich

December 20, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Portfolios, Russia

Prostorcrew is a player in Moscow’s event market. A special attitude to visual communication is what distinguishes prostocrew from other agencies on the market. It’s not lovely pictures or business identity — it’s more like an album cover, a revolution symbol or a subculture sign.

Roma Erohnovich team released the first iteration of a formless identity three years ago, and with the current redesign, we replenish the lexicon and make metaphors out of those new meanings.

Pilar Torcal Colorful Illustrations

December 17, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Illustration, Portfolios, Spain

Pilar Torcal is a Barcelona born and raised designer and illustrator who dreamt of being a gymnast, a model, and an archaeologist as a kid.

After studying advertising and trying out luck as an account executive, she realized that colors and type had always been what she really liked to fill her time with. She then went back to study and after working for a while at a small editorial design studio in the center of the city, she moved to NY to first start working at the women-led studio mgmt design and later on for a big digital design agency called Huge Inc.

Claudia Fontes ceramics "Fungus" sculptures

December 13, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Art, Argentina, Portfolios, Sculpture, United Kingdom

Claudia Fontes is an Argentinean visual artist based in England who explores through her actions, objects and research the poetic space and alternative modes of perception of culture, nature, history and society that emerge from processes of decolonization, be they personal, interpersonal, or social. She is well-known for her work “The Horse Problem” - top art installation at Venice Biennial in 2017. Her recent ceramic sculptures are gripping each other tight as they are transformed into fungus like growths and spores in an eerie but romantic series.

SS20 INERTIA by kofta

December 13, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Fashion, Portfolios, Ukraine, Design

“Impulse embodied in objects sets in motion the imagination, which in turn makes it possible to get in touch with the beginning and feel the primary motive. Continuity does not give rise to cyclicality, but opens up new things without breaking the tradition.“

Designer Konstantin Kofta is back with his new collection of hi-end leather bags INERTIA SS20. As stated by his studio - “We want to allow the viewer to gain different perspective on familiar things through synergizing with our artwork. Our bags serve as a canvas for expressing our creative intentions through properties that they did not initially possess, endowing them with ability to bring aesthetic pleasure, while maintaining functionality.”

Ilka & Franz

December 11, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Advertising, Agencies, Graphic Design, Portfolios, United Kingdom

Ilka & Franz are a German/ Austrian photo & director duo based in London (UK). Their work blurs the lines between portraiture and still life and is often humorous with an unexpected twist. While their unmistakable use of colour is vibrant and bold, their conceptual undertones are often subtle and of child-like naivety. Ilka & Franz draw their inspiration from pop culture, kitsch and surrealism as they put a playful spin on the ordinary. The duo work on editorial and commercial commissions in the UK and abroad.

December 09, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, USA, Portfolios, Photography

At first glance, you see “oil on canvas” depicts youngsters enjoying after-school in a mellow palette of a golden hour. But what Franck Bohbot tricked us to believe, apparently went out as photography. Very talented photography indeed.

Salman Khoshroo

December 06, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Art, Iran, Portfolios

Salman Khoshroo, born 1983 in Iran, spent his childhood years in New York. After a few intermittent years in Iran he went to study in the Australian National University, where he received his degree in Digital Art. He currently lives and works in his studio in Tehran mainly with a large palette knife spreading oil colours directly on the canvas. Khoshroo’s paintings harness figurative abstraction to evince very concise figures of emotional tension.

Mineral by Davy Evans

December 04, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Digital Art, Portfolios, United Kingdom

“Mineral” is a new photographic exploration of environmental issues, researched by digital artist Davy Evans. Plastic pollution is a huge threat the climate, and finds its way into every corner of our environment. The iridescent colour pallet has been created in-camera to represent the high oil content used in today's plastic production, which in turn drives the demand for oil.
