Los Angeles-based painter Kelly Reemtsen's (previously) newest works focus on the subject matter of well-dressed women toting household tools that range from mallets to power saws, each held in a causal position that demonstrates a comfortableness with the object in-hand.

"Guy Billout’s topsy-turvy illustrations subvert our perception of the world with clever twists and ironic flourishes. French-born Guy came to New York in 1969 and has worked as an illustrator ever since. Offering a subtle but thought-provoking approach to editorial illustration, Guy’s work has been featured in publications including The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and The Wall Street Journal numerous times over." read more on INT

Architect and designer Aldana Ferrer Garcia, has created More Sky, a variety of window concepts that allow people living in apartments to experience more sunlight in a unique way.
"More Sky is a cozy corner for the home that provides visual relief, access to sunlight and fresh air for small apartments. As an attempt to understand the threshold between ID and architecture, this project is conceived as an object and a space at the same time, responding to current needs in densely populated cities."
It’s always shining, always ablaze with light and energy that drive weather, biology and more. In addition to keeping life alive on Earth, the sun also sends out a constant flow of particles called the solar wind, and it occasionally erupts with giant clouds of solar material, called coronal mass ejections, or explosions of X-rays called solar flares. These events can rattle our space environment out to the very edges of our solar system. In space, NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory, or SDO, keeps an eye on our nearest star 24/7. SDO captures images of the sun in 10 different wavelengths, each of which helps highlight a different temperature of solar material. In this video, we experience SDO images of the sun in unprecedented detail. Presented in ultra-high definition, the video presents the dance of the ultra-hot material on our life-giving star in extraordinary detail, offering an intimate view of the grand forces of the solar system.

"Working from a tiny table in the nook of her living room, California-based artist Angela Schwer crafts explosive dahlias, gardenias, poppies, fungi, and sea creatures all from a custom blend of polymer clays. Meant primarily as decorative objects, the dense handmade pieces are surprisingly detailed, assembled from hundreds of perfectly formed clay pieces and formed into large tiles that can be hung from a wall or set on a table. You can see more in her online shop, Dilly Pad." via Colossal

I'm not a big fan of movies especially sci-fi but the work behind the scenes always fascinated me. Apart of the rumours that there is a crowdfunding campaign to return Matt Damon from Mars, the movie itself is captivating and first of all with its smart use of interface. After discovering GMUNK's work over "Tron" interfaces at OFFF festival few years ago, the way we see UI in movies raised the bar (sorry not to mention the Shell in Matrix). Here is the new, absolutely stunning and definitely painstaking work done by Territory Studio for "The Martian" movie. Working closely with NASA, Territory developed a series of deft and elegant concepts that combine factual integrity and filmic narrative, yet are forward looking and pushing NASA’s current UI conventions as much as possible.
In all Territory delivered around 400 screens for on-set playback, most of them featuring interactive elements. With 85 screens on the NASA Mission Control set alone, a number of which were 6mx18m wall screens, there are many moments in which the graphics become a dynamic bridge between Earth and Mars, narrative and action, audience and characters.

"The Aishti Foundation is a 40,000 sq foot exhibition space in Jal el-Dib, a short drive up the Mediterranean coast from downtown Beirut. The foundation building will showcase works from Salamé's 2,000-strong collection as well as a variety of high end luxury retail shops. To celebrate the opening of The Foundation, Tony Salamé asked Sagmeister&Walsh to conceptualise and design a campaign around the intersection of fashion and art, while also highlighting its location by the sea side. We also created an animated series of the campaign for Instagram and their social channels."

The sculptures of Beth Cavener focus on human psychology, stripped of context and rationalisation, and articulated through animal and human forms. Cavener wants to pry at those uncomfortable, awkward edges between animal and human. Entangled in their own internal and external struggles, the figures express frustration for the human tendency towards cruelty and lack of understanding
