SpY is an urban artist whose first endeavors date back to the mid-eighties. Pilar Torcal is a Barcelona born and raised designer and illustrator who dreamt of being a gymnast, a model, and an archaeologist as a kid.
After studying advertising and trying out luck as an account executive, she realized that colors and type had always been what she really liked to fill her time with. She then went back to study and after working for a while at a small editorial design studio in the center of the city, she moved to NY to first start working at the women-led studio mgmt design and later on for a big digital design agency called Huge Inc.
