Sanctum by Levi van Veluw

May 30, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Art, Netherlands, Portfolios, TOP 2019

Dutch artist Levi van Velum created an immersive installation “Sanctum” curated by Angel Moya Garcia

“The installation Sanctum, developed especially for Tenuta Dello Scompiglio, testifying of a fictitious religious conviction, engages all the senses of the visitor. The last room where visitors ended their journey in Kerguénnec, "The relativity of the matter", becomes the starting point for a more elaborate proposition in the expositive space of Dello Scompiglio. Levi van Veluw based Sanctum on of the first religious buildings, the Tabernacle, also called the tent of meeting. This tent served as a place of worship and symbolised God’s presence amidst those who had gathered.”

Daily Digital Art by Beeple

September 18, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Art, Netherlands, Instagram, Portfolios, 2018

Mike Winkelmann known as Beeple is doing a strong digital artwork a day. Literally every day for the last 11 years (sic!). We believe he has no time to collect them chronologically but sometimes it happens, like this time with November 2017 pack, available for appreciations on Behance. (We were happy to had Beeple involved in our Digital Decade exhibition last year where he recreated 3D worlds in VR Chat based on designs he selected from own competition ran with Kingdeluxe Label)

Gumshoe - shoes made of chewing gum

April 26, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in Design, Portfolios, Netherlands, United Kingdom, 2018

While some populists use "There is no Planet B" phrase without real input, guys from Amsterdam went further to prove the actual meaning behind that saying as "Start it from yourself". As we  tried to think of "..Planet B" from visual perspective during our Digital Decade 4, in 2016, nearly in the same time GUM-TEC created the backward process to extract actual rubber from chewing gum (yes, it is no more an eco-tree rubber). Later on they were baked by Amsterdam official "I AmSterdam" municipal group and asked designers from EXPLICIT to come back with a pair of recycled sneakers "Gumshoe". Real shoes are ready for pre-order now

Gum Drop Bin was an actual diploma of Gumshoe designer Anna Bullus at Brighton Uni, UK

Fleeting Parts: Milena Naef Plays with Marble and Skin

September 22, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Art, Netherlands, Portfolios, Sculpture, 2017

In Amsterdam-based, Milena Naef’s new series, “Fleeting Parts,” sections of her body fill tailored empty spaces in expertly cut-out marble. Creating these pieces was a process as carefully mentally planned to fit her exact measurements, as the designing and stitching of an exquisite couture silk dress might be. But whereas the dress will disintegrate with time, the marble slab, with its custom-designed sections that Milena's body - and hers alone - fill will last “forever.” Even if it is just for one fleeting moment. And it is with that defining moment, she demonstrates, in a tangible way that the relationship between an existing structure and the human form, transform “the mental into physical to find a new relation between the two.” - via Yatzer

The Next Rembrandt

May 10, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Art, Art, Netherlands, 2017

It’s been almost four centuries since the world lost the talent of one its most influential classical painters, Rembrandt van Rijn. That's clear world will never see another new piece from him even there were numerous hoax and fakes done during the last century. But what happens when tech minds step in the game? Having Microsoft and ING at their back, researchers, curators and developers from Museum Het Rembrandthuis, TU Delft and Mauritshuis created an AI that has generated a "new" Rembrandt painting by gathering and using data from all of his art legacy.

Zhuang Hong Yi

Zhuang Hong Yi can best be described as a Chinese, contemporary artist who has impressed audiences in different countries by his unique style in his many pieces of modern art. His works represent beauty, sophistication and a high level of perfection with a clear presence of Chinese influence represented in his use of colours, themes, shapes and materials that touch the heart.

Hong Yi’s concern with environmental issues is reflected in his repetitive use of floral patterns, highlighting the increasing urbanisation of his home country, the ferocious plundering of natural resources and the depopulation of the rural environment.

24 March - 14 April, The Unit London Gallery

Following the success of his first London exhibition in 2015, RAW  at the Unit London - Zhuang Hong Yi returns to the gallery with RAW II offering another chance to witness this artist’s captivating and iridescent works.

Residing in Amsterdam, Maria is a young Russia-born illustrator working for advertising and illustrative projects (ex. Russian Post cards). Her personal way of creating artworks takes from the mix of art nouveau and gothic prints. Some of her latest artwork remind me personally the works of French illustrator Vania Zouravliov

Drawings by Daan Noppen

February 13, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Art, Netherlands, Portfolios, 2017

Daan Noppen is an international artist mainly working in drawing and photography. He is best known for his realistic larger than life drawings of portraits and bodies. When looking closer at the works one finds mathematic equations in between the pencil strokes that relate to our reality.
His drawings project past, present and future in the now as one image, a parallel reality that we normally cannot see with the naked eye.

If travelers happen to visit Departure Hall 3 of Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, they may notice an immersive installation of clouds. Titled Beyond, Dutch artist Daan Roosegaard’s latest work is a “cloud wall” that creates the impression of a 3D cloud-laden sky vanishing into a great aerial distance.
