Aleksandra Domanović

Aleksandra Domanović deals with sculpture that echoes monuments from the past from her native (former) Yugoslavia. While some sculptures take on more traditional forms of post-Communist leaders, the Berlin-based artist also began experimenting with unique materials in her work. 19:30 Stacks was created by piling size A3 and A4 paper with photos printed on their sides with ink-jet printing. First creating a massive PDF file of a photo, Domanović set the printer to ‘border-less print’ setting, which coated the ends of each paper, and when stacked upon each other, revealed the finished image. aleksandradomanovic-8

Loop Portraits by Romain Laurent

“The idea behind One Loop Portrait a Week was to re-capture some sort of creative rhythm or spontaneity I felt I lost. Every week I shoot a new portrait with no pressure or overall idea, just what comes into my mind.” Brilliant works!

From the Knees of my Nose to the Belly of my Toes

"Created by British designer Alex Chinneck, this fun intervention creates the illusion that a brick facade has melted right off the side of a building and into the front yard. Titled From the Knees of my Nose to the Belly of my Toes, the piece was installed in the English seaside town of Margate, and the artist chose to present it without any identifying information, leaving locals amused and scratching their heads."

SCRIPTURA VITAE by Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic

If you bought our latest DCMAG magazine you might recognise the maestro of black typography and graphic force London-based and Argentina-rased Aerosyn-Lex Mestrovic. We also featured his latest motion video "SCRIPTURA VITAE" on our interactive magazine pages.

"Mestrovic's latest venture is an ambitious three-part journey into the unknown that showcases Lex's haunting ritualistic calligraphy, alongside stunningly choreographed Japanese Butoh performances set to a score which features original music by the Grammy Nominated DIPLO. The film stars famed Japanese actress Miho Nikaido, best known for her role in the cult-classic and previously banned film Tokyo Decadence which was written and directed by lauded novelist Ryu Murakami. The effects in the film are visually striking, combining modern compositing with in-camera painting to devise something wholly unique." says Souris

His project The Selby offers an insider’s view of creative individuals in their personal spaces with an artist’s eye for detail. FlyKly Smart Wheel

In 2011 Niko Klansek introduced the first line of the FlyKly electric bicycles to the USA market. After the first experience with the electric bicycles he realized the many possibilities of how to innovate on the e-bike field. The time was ideal to finally actualize the idea he had for years on how to upgrade the ordinary bicycle with a motor and turn it into a pedal assist. Niko sketched the rough concept and started working with a team of engineers, designers, software developers and bicycle culture researchers and created the first working prototype in early 2013.With their new FlyKly Smart Wheel the process is simple. Just buy the appropriate size, remove your rear wheel and replace it with the FlyKly Smart Wheel. As you begin to pedal, the motor is activated and begins accelerating to your desired speed (the motor also stops when you stop pedalling). This allows you to ride your bike effortlessly; you’re travelling faster, saving you not only time - but energy too.
