The Chamber of Curiosity by Gestalten

"The Chamber of Curiosity by Gestalten is more than a collection of some of the best interiors from around the world. With its added strong focus on the occupants as well as their very essence, the publication also manages to unlock the individual character of the incredible interiors showcased. Featuring the homes of designers and architects from Paris to Pittsburgh and Milan to Melbourne, the reader has the opportunity to view interiors that are personal, not to mention strikingly diverse where we witness tributes to Kubrick and Lynch through to the most unlikely combinations of colour, texture and styles. The result is a book of pioneering interior design that focuses on telling the story behind the interiors themselves rather than merely illustrating the latest industry trends." via Yatzer

Emojiple - Emoji People by BHSAD Students

Moscow based High School of Art and Design (BHSAD) strikes again (check all previous workshops). Having a talented tutor like Dmitry Karpov can be fun but requires a lot of potentials to fulfill the daily challenges he gives to his students. The recent one was an 8 hrs workshop with the aim to imagine people using Emoji smile icons in real life. Check the quick results below. Surely it was inspired by French Rosapark's "Innocence et Danger" campaign but goes a little bit crazy.

Artist Residence London

Our new addition to Interior Design Gallery is London's Artist Residence opened during 2014 in a mid-19th-century listed building in Pimlico which was renovated over the course of a whole year and decorated by its two young owners, hoteliers Justin Salisbury and Charlotte Newey. "Following an ‘‘eclectic luxury’’ approach that combines vintage design with contemporary art, Charlotte and Justin have filled the hotel with original art prints and vintage objects sourced in galleries and antique shops across the UK and Europe. The result is a very personal, inviting space that skilfully mixes contrasting elements with surprising results." writes Yatzer

Pennethorne’s Café, London, UK

Somerset House, one of London’s major cultural institutions, is now home to the brand new café and bar Pennethorne’s designed by SHH Architects. Situated on the west face of the neoclassical building, looking out onto Lancaster Place and Waterloo Bridge, the new day-to-night venue has been named after Sir James Pennethorne — the highly-reputed architect of the 19th century who was responsible for Somerset House’s 'New Wing' (which now houses the café/bar) as well as other landmarks in London

Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year: Marsala

By Sarah Maloy at Shutterstock: "Every December, Pantone announces its upcoming Color of the Year, and every year most designers can’t wait to start searching for images and creating lightboxes inspired by the new hue. This year’s color, Marsala, is a dusky burgundy that draws its name and its shade from the Marsala wines of Italy. Its deep, reddish tones are perfect for the cranberries, crackling fires, and cuddly sweaters of the upcoming winter season, and they’ll guide us all the way to autumn 2015, when leaves the color of Marsala begin to fall.

A native Oregonian, Eva currently resides in LA. Her love of cooking can be credited to being raised in her parents' Greek deli which they owned and operated for over thirty years. There she learned that food can ignite excitement in even the most reserved individuals. When she is not developing recipes or shooting and styling in the field, she enjoys tending to her garden, curling up with a good book, and traveling. Sponsor: Fotolia TEN Collection Season 3 Overview

Our friends and hosting-partners Fotolia are summing up the year of TEN Collection Season 3. Season 3 of the TEN Collection was quite the challenge. "After the phenomenal success of Season’s 1 and 2, we asked ourselves how could we maintain your interest in the project, and keep pushing the skill sets of not only the artists featured, but also our community, whom this project has always been about?" [twocol_one] Sharing, creativity, worldwide influences, graphic inspiration and education were always at the heart of the project. Keeping these core principles, we decided we had to shake up the concept to maintain the high level of interest and participation. We started with introducing an extra creative ingredient to the mix: photography. Then, we blended the 2014 batch of TEN talents following a new recipe: we had graphic designers and photographers work together in the planning, design and production stages in five exclusive duets throughout the year. [/twocol_one][twocol_one_last] As an added twist, we paired them from different countries, to incorporate a variety of international trends, and set upon the overall theme of ‘The Future’, from which every artist partnership could unwind a specific creative topic. We saw from your massive support worldwide all along the year that, the challenge was met. Here’s a quick overview for you to enjoy once more the exclusive 2014 TEN art gallery: [/twocol_one_last]

fotolia-ten2014-eric-mike-0 The first duet entitled ‘Creating her own Future’ was the work of Canadian photographer Eric Pare (who specialises in light painting) and US digital artist Mike Campau, offering a very tender insight on the next generations.

fotolia-3-lucia-mateusz-1 May’s ‘Clean inside’, by Lucia Giacani, a celebrated Italian fashion photographer and Poland’s digital artist Mateusz Chmura, was a critical position on the increasing monitoring we are (willingly?) submitting ourselves to.

fotolia-july-1 German photographer Paul Ripke and British digital artist Nik Ainley collaborated on a futuristic and offbeat view of Hamburg, “Surf in the city”. Following on two months later was ‘Energy of Life’: this was the work of Spanish photographer Mikel Muruzabal and French digital artist Christophe Huet, who warn us on the danger of standardization on Mankind.

fotolia-ten3-4a

The Season finished in November following on from the release of ‘Future Shangri-La’, the collective work of Japanese Concept Artist INEI Studio and Korean photographer Mi-Kyung Kim who gifted us with a poetic vision of a future peaceful Eden.

fotoliaten-november-0

The range of talent showcased in Season 3 has been mind-blowing and every individual was able to bring a skill or mindset (or both!) to the table in order to broaden all of our artistic as well as technical development.

The TEN artists and jury were equally as praiseful about the high level of talent that was displayed by the entrants to our TEN Contests, which ran after every PSD release.

We’d love to take this opportunity to once again thank all those who’ve followed the TEN Collection Season 3! Whether you’ve downloaded the free PSDs, entered the competitions or just admired from social media we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and we look forward to you joining us on our next creative journey!

Stay tuned for future announcements in regards to our next projects on the Fotolia and TEN Facebook pages, Twitter and G+.

Emoji Album Covers by @EmojiArtworks done with Glitche App

It's been a while since I spoke about Russian-born Glitche App at Digitized Festival this September in Athens. Started as a fun in 2013 the Glitche app reached the top of App Store in a few months, right after celebrities and photographers like Nicola Formichetti (Diesel) or Nick Knight (Showstudio) showed the world a new tool that saves a lot of efforts and money to bring a wow-effect. Basically the app give you an opportunity to become a contemporary artist just by distorting your photos with an awesome set of filters and glitch-hacks. After the release of the second version app rocked with a new features and filters like Emoji-art (I still remember the joy of ASCII-Art Christmas Cards my dad did in later 80ss for me). We didn't wait to long for a clever guy using Glitche App to create epic fan art over famous music covers. So he did it very well and buzz the social web with his artworks available on Twitter @emojiartworks. Find the cover you like or create and share your own Glitch Art using the app now. If you totally missed a thing, there is a second app from Glitche Team (Vladimir Shreyder) aimed to eliminate the sense of selfie by creating anti-selfie - SLMMSK. Go try on both apps! Meanwhile enjoy the selection of Emoji Music Cover Artworks below.

"This american artist has an impressive talent and a great technique when it comes to shooting. Working as a lifestyle photographer and capturing essence of products for Nike or Lincoln cars, his talent does not go away when Jared tries to shoot scenes where nothing but nature is the master. And when he’s not busy creating master pieces out of silent hills or foggy mounts, he let his camera and his creative mind discover urban landscapes and beautiful portraits."
