Edifice is an experimental short film inspired by personal beliefs of who we are, where we come from, and where we are heading; it’s a journey from stardust to singularity. This purely cinematic film is intended to stimulate your mind and senses, while provoking further thought about our passage and presence in this world. To optimize your experience of the film, Edifice is best viewed on a full screen, with no surrounding artificial light intrusion, and very ample sound.

CarbonSpace

CarbonScape is the latest kinetic data soundscape installation created by h0nh1m aka Chris Cheung  It consists of 18 tracks of granular synthesized sound samples, collected from the sound sources where carbon footprints left; from the jet engine sound, steam noises of the factory to the horn of the ships etc…one minute long for each track, giving chances to stand in silent tribute to the mother earth. The finale is composed of all tracks blending into the soundscape.

The work is a visualisation of carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the atmosphere according to the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) since 1958. In 2017, the concentration of CO2 soared to its highest of the past three million years, with industrialization and the use of fossil fuels being one of the major factors. The installation arranged in a bamboo forest like landscape, with the changing ambience drone noises, imitates chimneys frequently found in power plants and factories, with black spheres indicating CO2 levels around the globe. Immersing the viewer in an environment taken over with chimneys, CarbonScape thinks about what our position as humans can be, while the earth’s capacity for life reaches its limits.

A short movie directed by Vladimir Faraday is an attempt to look at familiar places in a new way. "How may The Red Square or Gorky Park  look when nobody is around? Vladimir has extensive experience on TV. Since 14 he is working on TV as journalist, cameraman and editor. During this time he also made several successful doc movies as Director and DP. Currently he works as Director and DP.

Damien Hirst mockumentary "The Treasures from The Wreck of the Unbelievable" hits Netflix

The film, financed by the artist himself, seeks to re-enact the fictional backstory behind the divisive show went in Venice last year (see full coverage)

According to the 90-minute mockumentary, the vast Venice spectacle was not the 52-year-old artist’s highly anticipated comeback exhibition, which took 10 years and cost a reported $65 million to produce.

Instead, the film suggests the show was the debut presentation of long-lost treasure discovered by a team of archaeologists and divers off the coast of east Africa. The trove—so the story goes—had been assembled during the 1st or 2nd centuries by a former slave turned voracious collector, Cif Amotan II (an anagram, it turns out, for “I am fiction”).

Exploration seems to be a human compulsion, so I wanted to tell a little story in the form of a visual essay, with a few images that can each convey an emotion related to Explore, showing a progression, going from Footsteps on a trail, climbing, looking at the skies, travellling through the void of space and in the end turning to meditation, completing a full circle.

"For their latest dizzying interactive installation, Japanese collective teamLab (previously) brought the ocean indoors, creating a projected environment that reacts to the movements of visitors, all encased within the infinite space of a mirror room. Titled “Moving Creates Vortices and Vortices Create Movement” the work is inspired in part by the life cycle of the ocean, particularly the movement of plankton as represented by the reactive particle effects that spin like whirlpools as you pass through the exhibition space. Rubber People by Simon Christoph Krenn

"Simon Christoph Krenn’s 3D animation, Parasitic Endeavours, initially started out as the creative wanting to explore distorted perspectives on human evolution."

The result is a compilation of body parts, mainly heads and torsos, that wobble along a white backdrop and bump together like rubber mannequins. The hyperreal detail is unnerving and to see recognisable human parts being manipulated making the viewer feel both uncomfortable and mesmerised.

In the creative industry, we are overwhelmed by abstract CGI animation, most of the times made using presets, most of the times without a concept.
FROM COLORS TO NONE is a research about 3 human steps through colours. Each step is represented by a basic geometric form: A circle, a square and a triangle. The circle is humanity, Square is coherence, Triangle is relationships. Nowadays, these 3 aspects are, day by day, chocked by our digital routine. Sometimes we feel like swimming in the sand, blinded by powder. But when it seems all black, we try to survive and research for a new balance. So we build our Color Machine from none. Cause, maybe,  from none we come… and our life is 100% colourful :)
