Come & Stay in Paris
“Paris is a vibrant city and it has never been quiet for me. It’s full of fragile sounds, unique textures of streets echoing with the patter of footsteps, wheels, horns, voices.”

"Matthieu Venot is a self-taught French photographer whose pictures capture the urban environment in a most graphic and transformative of ways. Focusing on the part rather than the whole, his photographs abstract his surroundings into colourful graphical vistas turning the quotidian into the iconic."

"First I wanted to document the people who live there, but when I began to photograph their daily lives I started to focus more and more on the buildings. The idea was to explore the past of the place, its future and present. I wanted to highlight the generation of elderly people who started living in those buildings when they were made and to draw a parallel between the aging of architecture and that of the human beings housed within. These neighbourhoods are often marginalised, their inhabitants side-lined. However, these buildings are more futuristic than ever—more than La Défense, the modern financial district of Paris. You could never say what era these buildings belong to." says Laurent Kronental about his series "Souvenir d'un Futur" in i-D Magazine interview

Street artist working under the name eL Seed (you might remember him by Tour Paris 13 project) created one of the largest optical illusion street art in the world, placing it on suburbs of Manshiyat Nasr in Cairo, Egypt. "In the neighbourhood of Manshiyat Nasr in Cairo, the Coptic community of Zaraeeb collects the trash of the city for decades and developed the most efficient and highly profitable recycling system on a global level. Still, the place is perceived as dirty, marginalised and segregated. To bring light on this community, with my team and the help of the local community, I created an anamorphic piece that covers almost 50 buildings only visible from a certain point of the Moqattam Mountain. The piece of art uses the words of Saint Athanasius of Alexandria, a Coptic Bishop from the 3rd century, that said: ‘Anyone who wants to see the sunlight clearly needs to wipe his eye first.’", eL Seed, Instagram
“A street artist born in Paris to Tunisian parents, eL Seed did not learn to read or write Arabic until his late teens, but when he did his renewed interest in his heritage had a profound effect on his art.” — BBC
"In his clever photographs of landscapes, Paris based photographer Guillaume Amat visually explores the meaning of continuity. His recent and ongoing series titled “Open Fields” features images of empty scenes occupied by a fixed, centred mirror to give a window into all that is missing or, perhaps, all that is present." via HiFructose
