Just days before the start of the UN COP21 Climate Conference held in Paris and during the French state of emergency following terrorist attacks earlier this November, 600 posters were covertly distributed and hung within the city. The posters were not taped to poles or distributed in public grounds, but secured behind glass at bus stops around the city. The large-scale posters were advertisement replacements, fake corporate ads designed by 82 artists across 19 countries to satirize messaging found throughout the Parisian streets.
Organized by the Brandalism project, the citywide sweep is meant to challenge the corporate takeover of the Paris climate talks, forming ads that target the link between corporations’ advertising with consumerism, global warming, and fossil fuel consumption.." Read more on Colossal
Cambridge’s King’s College Chapel unites the old and the new, the spiritual and scientific – literally so with the “Dear World… Yours, Cambridge” projection. This project by Miguel Chevalier set up in “immersive projection” in the chapel that showed images relating to the many fields of the University of Cambridge, from literature to astrophysics.
Miguel Chevalier is a Mexico City-born artist who lives in Paris. He works exclusively with computers. Since 1980’s, he has created “many projects variously incorporating generative and interactive virtual reality installations projected on large scale, shown on Leds screen or LCD screen, sculptures created with a 3D printer or with laser cut, holographic imagery and other forms.”

French photographer Antoine Geiger has visualized the parasitic relationship between human and a mobile screen in his series called SUR-FAKE. In each of his compelling compositions, a phone and face are fused into one, as its user is absorbed into the illuminated device.

Our friends and sponsors Depositphotos launched a brand new blog "Bird" dedicated to the world of Photography. They asked us to come across their latest content presented both on Russian and English and select the interesting portfolio for our readers. Check the surface and the sides of the Paris basketball court that are painted in the main colours of Malevich's "Sportsmen"
Ill-Studio has collaborated with French fashion brand Pigalle to create a multicoloured basketball court between a row of buildings in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. They took inspiration from a 1930s artwork called Sportsmen by Russian artist Kasimir Malevich – a boldly coloured oil painting that depicts four figures stood side by side.

«Sportsmen is one of our favourite artworks, — they say. — We were attracted not only by the characters of the painting, but also by the colours and graphic design that were consistent with our view of the future».

Yesterday, the 19th-century market building in London’s Covent Garden was transformed. French artist Charles Pétillon used twenty-five workers over five days to fill the building with 100,000 giant white balloons in an installation called “heartbeat.” The project is part of Covent Garden’s ongoing cultural program that strives to transform the district into an ever-changing art gallery, and will run until September 27th (as a part of London Design Festival).

‘I also want to show them that there’s not only the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and other monuments but that the city has a lot more different angles and things to be appreciated. You just have to see and notice them’, Erras told Trendland.

"H2o architectes designed the Arsenal Flat in Paris for a couple that have two children. The apartment isn’t your typical design. The interior is laid out to include three connected living spaces that are open but slightly partitioned by built-in bookcases with one angled side, which references the building’s sloped roofline."

"Thibault Delhom (Behance, Instagram) finds interesting ways to infuse his portraits with a creative edge, whether it’s by digitally adding lines and graphics or by using surreal props like an anatomically correct hand. The colour scheme is made up of predominately darker tonalities and he achieves a high level of contrast which is great to see. High quality stuff indeed." via

Photographer Julien Mauve created a series called 'Greetings from Mars' where he pretends to visit the red planet as a tourist.
"It’s interesting to observe the way we act in front of the camera, how we include ourselves in the landscapes, how those landscapes trigger the desire to affirm our presence", says Julien Mauve.
"Kenzo creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have tapped American independent filmmaker Gregg Araki, one of the leading lights of the New Queer Cinema movement, to write and direct an original short film featuring the brand’s fall collections for men and women. “Here Now” features a cast of young actors including “Glee” alum Jacob Artist, “Suburgatory” star Jane Levy, Grace Victoria Cox, Jake Weary and Canadian actor and singer Avan Jogia. The film also stars Nicole Laliberte, who appeared in Araki’s 2010 film “Kaboom”." via

Walk through any good art classical museum, and the statues can seem so real, it's almost as if they'll come to life if turn your back on them. At France's Lyon Museum of Fine Arts, for at least one night, that's exactly what happened.
The museum asked artist Arnaud Pottier to bring sculptures, including Laurent Honore Marqueste's Perseus Slaying Medusa, James Pradier's Odalisque, and Barrias' Les Premières Funérailles, to life. His method was pretty simple: He used projection mapping, which can turn anything—including statues—into a display.
