Alana Dee Haynes
Alana Dee Haynes (Instagram) is a Brooklyn-based artist who turns the bodies of her photographed subjects into illustrated surfaces, transforming blank skin and clothing into undulating patterns and shapes. via
“Everyone has a certain way they see the world. Some things jump out at people, while others pass them by. I see faces and patterns everywhere. When I look at people, I connect their beauty marks, and find faces in their knuckle lines. It’s just the way I live. So, naturally, I see these things in photographs too. It is not synesthesia, but it is a similar way of viewing multiple layers in things.” (Source)

Formento + Formento
We have spotted the photographic works of BJ and Richeille Formento few years ago, and now it is a time to check their new updates. "Photographers BJ and Richeille Formento met exactly a decade ago, while working on a common assignment, and have been partners in both life and work ever since. Together they travel around the world, creating highly inspirational visual series that treat the human persona as prime matter that can be re-shaped through the most unconventional of scenarios. These are usually set in a surreal environment that is saturated in an abundance of contrasting references involving everything from culture and sex to high-fashion and technology." text by Yannis Tzannis via Yatzer
"In contrast to their work, the reason that pushed the photography duo in the direction they followed was anything but surreal. It all started with the recession in 2008 and the subsequent collapse of the American Dream. Simply getting by in New York wasn’t enough for the Formentos and soon life found them travelling across the US in a 27-foot Airstream, in an attempt to capture this newly-found reality through photographing women they would meet along the way. The result of this five-month trip was Circumstance: America Down on Bruised Knees, the duo’s first conceptual series and big breakthrough." continue reading on Yatzer

Designer Konstantin Kofta combines rural and urban perceptions, and embraces the unintentional and unexpected, which provide inspiration for current and future collections. Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2015 Collection
When it comes to showcasing Gareth Pugh fashion, I leave all the work behind and sit down to write this in a onebreathe. Hence the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection deeply reminds me the work of Leon Bakst but imagine he met Nosferatu or someone from the dark side of Pagan mythology, deep, dark and captivating. Gareth Pugh caused a stir for S/S 15 by eschewing his usual slot on the Paris Fashion Week schedule and kicking off New York Fashion Week with an immersive live experience, made in collaboration with Lexus. The event featured three short films that combined Pugh’s designs with performances by models, choreographed by Wayne McGregor. Filmmaker and artist Andrew Thomas Huang served as creative director. SHOWstudio is proud to exclusively release the films - Megalith, Chaos, and Ascension - alongside a gallery of images that show off Pugh's S/S 15 collection in detail.
