The Wonders Taste by Francesca Fattori

The Wonders Taste was inspired by a René Magritte’s picture named “The Invisible’s Taste”. Artist Francesca Fattori often take inspiration from the surrealist art. Fattori objectifies ordinary food ingredients by relating them to her personal perceptions of sinuosity; extravagance; limitation and fragility. The pictures are still scenes from a play and removed from their fluid natural sequence, which she likes to call “Metaphysical Landscapes”. via Trendland

Rubik’s Snake Lamp by Oikimus

Introducing the Rubik’s Snake Lamp, designed by Oikimus Maria and Ivan Zverev, of Oikimus Design based in our lovely city of Saint-Petersburg.Just like the toy Rubik’s Snake (a hit of the seventies, really), the lamp is made up of elements interconnected by hinges that allow the parts to rotate 360° to create various two- and three-dimensional shapes. Do note that the lamp’s case is made of plywood, outfitted with LEDs inside that illuminate through frosted Plexiglas.

Le Gouffre (The Chasm) Animation

An inspiring tale about friendship, sacrifice and conquering the impossible. Le Gouffre is the first animated short film produced and directed by Lightning Boy Studio, a young creative team based in Montreal. The film tells the story of two spirited travelers who come across an incredibly wide chasm on their journey and decide to build a bridge to cross it. Released in February 2015, the project had first gained a lot of attention following the huge success of its Kickstarter campaign, which allowed the creators to finance the movie’s post-production. Many were impressed by the passion and determination of the small team of three animators, who spent more than two full years creating the 10-minute film.

Small World of Manuel Archain

Manuel Archain born in 1983 in Argentina is an emerging star in contemporary photography. Here is a series of his photomanipulations titled “Small world”.

Walking through thoughts, cars, books, streetlights, bikes, people, breakfast, dinner, travel landscapes, inner landscapes… So fast, so anxious we could be in the middle of a scene before we even get there. We could even go through it and be back without even noticing it. The usual, everyday dream, our out of scale perception and how each one of us is so into our personal world that we cannot see what is happening around us. The size and weight of things is so distorted, we can even manage to move into a small world. Why the size of a truck could not be the same as my personal scale of a tea cup? What is after the end of the table?

Flipboard Cafe, Melbourne by Brolly Design

Brolly Design have designed Flipboard, a tiny multi-level cafe in Melbourne, Australia. Flipboard Cafe, carved from a lost site in the city, is a tiny multi-level nook that serves fine space with a side of excellent coffee and healthy food. The cafe is nestled in the intersection of an emergency exit from Bennetts Lane Jazz Club below, the thoroughfare to Brolly Studios behind, and a two decade old unused shop-front window.

Mag + Art by Eisen Bernard

I think I found a heaven for visual and art addict like me. Check out the hundreds of talented collages where modern vanity fair juxtaposes with classic art to create a satyrical clash for a modern society. Meet Eisen Bernard and his "Mag + Art" project

"My Mag + Art series is a collection of magazine cover and classical painting mashups. Famous paintings of artists like Boticelli, Ingres, Klimt and Picasso were overlain with iconic covers of popular magazines like Life, Time, Harper’s Bazaar and Rolling Stone to produce funny and interesting visual combos. This ongoing project on Tumblr is my way of giving homage to the magazines – as venue of human artistic expression and vehicle of popular culture."
