Camera Obscura by Abelardo Morell

"Originally born in Havana, Cuba, photographer Abelardo Morell has embraced the classic technique of camera obscura, a method used photographically through the use of pinhole cameras. Morell finds rooms with windows that offer unique and spectacular views from the Eiffel Tower to the Italian countryside and then blocks out all the light from the windows with the exception of a pinhole which causes the narrow channel of light to project an exact upside down image of the scene outside on the opposite wall. Next, Morell sets up a large format camera facing the projection on the wall and creates a long exposure photograph revealing the juxtaposition of the actual room meshing with the landscape outside the window." via Juxtapoz

320° LICHT

The "320° Licht" installation of URBANSCREEN uses the cathedral-like beauty of the Gasometer as the starting point for a fascinating game with shapes and light.Within a radius of 320 degrees graphic patterns grow and change on the 100-metre high inside wall of the Gasometer.

“This experience is based on the vastness of the Gasometer,” sound designer Jonas Wiese told the Creator’s Project. “We tried to work with that expression to make the space bigger and smaller, to deform it and to change its surface over and over while not exaggerating and overwriting the original effect of the room.” He continues, “the age of the screen is coming to an end, digital interfaces will dissolve and merge into the social space [...] we poetically contribute to this through art.”

Gourmet mouse traps by Davide Luciano

As the name suggests, this photography series showcases mouse traps baited with a cheesy dish fit for the pickiest mouse. In the series, mouse traps are outfitted with savoury and mouth-watering dishes rather than the standard cheese. The inspiration for Gourmet Mouse Traps came to Davide Luciano after a week-long cheese advertising shoot in NYC. Food stylist Claudia Ficca embraced the challenge of making miniature dishes.

The year 2014 is the last break point on the way to omni-channel digital world were device is no more a single way to communicate with information and data. 11 Years and counting!

It's been a year since I did the Digital Decade exhibition to celebrate our Anniversary. Today it is a kind of a milestone for our social activity as we just about to hit 40K followers on Facebook. I decided to level down the celebration this year but for sure will do some interesting collaborations in future! Stay tuned!

Marc Dennis inception art

Marc Dennis’ hyperrealistic paintings are centered around the gaze and ideal for viewers who enjoy spending a lot of time with a single work of art. Layered with symbol upon symbol, it’s apparent that there are two subjects featured in any one of his complex compositions – the person who does the looking and the object that’s being looked at.

I saturate my paintings with truths and suggestions about human behavior, ways of looking, and the psychological, spiritual and physical relationships we have with art. Walter Benjamin, the famous social critic once said, “To experience the aura of a phenomenon means to invest it with the capability of returning the gaze.” I believe that we, as viewers and art lovers, are eager and more pleased when it happens, to find ourselves, or some semblance of ourselves in a work of art. In other words, I do my part in “returning the gaze” that Benjamin speaks of. And in this hyper self-conscious, glamour-driven, sexually-inflated and media-obsessed art culture of today, my works are satirical yet sincere, artificial yet real, and most definitely loaded with personal symbolism yet public pomp — a timely combination and expression.
