The resulting mural was “Grand Pale Maw,” an expansive wall drawing that encompassed the entire rear corridor space of LACE in LA. Grand Pale Maw—Sullivan’s first large scale mural—was on display only through January 2012 but thanks to these photos documenting the process we can still ogle over them. " via Colossal

AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia was initiated as one of the key events within Russian federal and regional program in culture and fashion industry. This time the programme extended to 4 events: AFW itself presenting 13 new Russian and worldwide designers; White Night Shopping; AURORA Market and Food Festival "ODA!EDA!". The main event will take place in Russian Academy of Arts - Rafael and Titian Spaces - and I hope it will be another time to enjoy the impressive juxtaposition of classic environment and modern catwalk. Международная Неделя моды в Петербурге AURORA FASHION WEEK Russia сезона FW 14/15 пройдет с 7 по 13 апреля 2014 года и станет событием федерального значения.
Программа Недели будет включать в себя четыре мероприятия городского масштаба: ночь шопинга WHITE NIGHT SHOPPING, 13 показов ведущих российских и иностранных дизайнеров, fashion & beauty фестиваль AURORA MARKET, «ОДА! ЕДА!» в ресторанах Петербурга.
5 апреля в преддверии Недели моды состоится ночь шопинга WHITE NIGHT SHOPPING, в рамках которой более 100 бутиков Северной столицы реализуют для своих клиентов специальную программу: предложения по скидкам на коллекции текущего сезона, ворк-шопы и мастер-классы. WHITE NIGHT SHOPPING пройдет с большим размахом и задействует широкий сегмент модной индустрии, включая масс-маркет и премиальные бренды и бутики.
В рамках подиумной программы в синергии с классическим искусством Рафаэлевского и Тициановского залов Музея Российской Академии Художеств состоятся 13 показов самых актуальных дизайнеров: петербургских и российских, а также известных и авангардных иностранных, уже завоевавших расположение российских и зарубежных редакторов моды, байеров и трендсеттеров.
Так, в этом сезоне состоятся премьерные показы таких брендов как Walk of Shame, Esme Vie, Bevza и Ksenia Schnaider. Московский бренд Walk of Shame, проект дизайнера Андрея Артёмова, привлекает внимание самых разных трендсеттеров: в одежде марки были замечены Келли Роуленд, Наталья Гольденберг, Екатерина Мухина, Алёна Долецкая, Дарья Веледеева, Ксения Собчак и другие. Вещи бренда продаются в лучших магазинах Москвы – ЦУМ, Цветной, Kuznetsky Most 20, – а также в интернет-магазине Opening Ceremony. О марке регулярно пишут издания Vogue, Elle, Interview Russia.
В 2013 году Франка Соццани и Сюзи Менкес, легендарные для мира моды фигуры, выбрали марку Esme Vie победителем конкурса молодых дизайнеров «Who Is On Next». Авторитетные журналисты сравнивают работы этого бренда с лучшими творениями Живанши, Баленсиаги и Диора. Уже сейчас платья Esme Vie можно найти в универмаге Harrods и на Moda Operandi.
Марка Bevza – один из флагманов украинской моды. Коллекция бренда регулярно представляется в рамках London Fashion Week; 2014 год начался для Bevza с презентации в шоу-руме проекта Vogue Talents (Милан) и участия в выставке Art Georgia (Париж).
Лаконичные силуэты и смелые дизайнерские решения ставят марку в один ряд с такими брендами, как Celine. Также традиционно на Неделе моды будут представлены самые актуальные петербургские дизайнеры, среди которых Osome2some, Lilia Kisselenko, Liza Odinokikh, Artem Shumov, Jana Segetti, Milla Berillo и другие. В рамках Недели также состоится специальный показ сценических костюмов из оперы "Летучий Голландец". Проект Aurora Fashion Week и Михайловского театра.
Международная конференция о модном бизнесе FASHIONOMICA будет представлять образовательный блок на AURORA MARKET, состоящий из большой программы мастер-классов и интерактивных презентаций, посвященных моде и красоте. Для посетителей фестиваля будут работать профессиональные стилисты, которые помогут разобраться в модных трендах и новинках, представленных на мероприятии. Также будет организована работа фотостудии, где гости смогут запечатлеть не только приобретенный и созданный в Beauty Bar образ, но и выступить в качестве модели модной съемки для журнала. Еще большую уникальность событию придаст демонстрация производства аксессуаров на 3D-принтере, которые после «шоу» можно будет приобрести.
Приятным бонусом этого сезона станет фестиваль еды «ОДА! ЕДА!» в ресторанах Петербурга - в течение недели с 5 по 13 апреля гостей ресторанов-участников фестиваля еды будут ждать особенные блюда в концепции slow food/easy meal, также скидки и специальные предложения для посетителей с пригласительным билетом на Неделю моды или профессиональной аккредитацией.

I have not watched much of Wes Anderson films, but in Grand Hotel Budapest I was really impressed by the quality of each frame, colour and the amazing transitions he uses. Few days later I found a video that explained much of Wes' perfectionism - UK based director Kogonada did a nice research for Anderson's love to symmetry and centred composition.
P.s. One can point that Wes was inspired by Stanley Kubrick way of building a frame, so mister Kogonada has also explained master's obsession in a centred composition a year ago here
