“Using his iPhone only, Prince Gyasi captures both resiliency and strength through his striking silhouettes placed against brightly altered landscapes and vivid backgrounds.”

Marmalade Type by Ruslan Khasanov

November 11, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Digital Art, Portfolios, Photography, Russia
“This is a bright and colourful typography captured with camera. These images are looks like computer graphics, some kind of experiment with gradients. But the whole point is that this is a photo, there is not a drop of any paint here only the phenomenon of interference. I formed letters with gel on the surface of the CD and illuminated it with a lamp.”

Panelki

October 22, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Architecture, Poland, Photography

Panelki by Zupagrafika (previously known by Brutal London project) allows readers to assemble a genuine Soviet-era prefab block, panel by panel, while learning about the history of prefabricated construction systems commonly used behind the Iron Curtain.

Plattenbau, Panelák, Wielka Płyta, Panelky, Panelház or Панельки: Prefabricated panel blocks go by different names around the former Eastern Bloc, but no matter where they were built, their goal was always the same: to provide homes for expanding city populations after World War II.

The Standard London Hotel

October 14, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019, Interior Design, Architecture, Portfolios, Photography

The Standard's first UK hotel opens this summer inside a brutalist building, featuring colourful interiors designed by Shawn Hausman to contrast "the greyness of London".

Occupying the former Camden Town Hall Annexe in King's Cross, The Standard is designed by Shawn Hausman Design with brightly-hued guest rooms and communal spaces that have an "element of lightheartedness".

The studio worked alongside London-based Archer Humphryes Architects, who carried out internal structural changes as part of architecture practice Orms' wider refurbishment of the building.

Opening its doors to the public this July, the hotel will have 266 rooms, a bar, recording studio, and three restaurants – one of which is on the building's roof and overlooks the surrounding cityscape.
