"Each of Hoflehner’s photographs achieves a perfection of composition that seems to defy the possibility that it could ever be seen any other way. Gripping in their ultimate solitude and the unexpected natural beauty they capture, Hoflehner's photographs take his earthly subject matter to raise it to an almost mythical level, defining the essence of the place. In these rare and elusive moments, the natural and the man made are brought together in a poetic interplay of light and shadow, emptiness and structure"

The streets of Hull (England) were transformed into an ocean of painted human flesh as 3,200 volunteers braved the North Sea chill to create an incredible spectacle. Called the Sea Of Hull, it was the biggest nude art installation Britain has ever seen and the brainchild of US photographer Spencer Tunick, who was impressed at how wholeheartedly his idea was embraced.
Talented Canadian photographer Blaise Misiek rooted from Poland shows off epic portfolio. We enjoyed its Still Life section the most. Below is his recent series made with stylist Chad Burton for Metal Magazine
“As of the most convenient mediums to capture reality, photography sometimes moves a step beyond it and takes us on a journey to the unknown. Ilka Kramer does just that, creating unearthly scenes that question our perception of landscapes.”
“In a time where we lose direct contact with nature, we accede to it only by the view.”

“Perhaps one of the most famous artist couples of the 20th century, Christo and Jean-Claude have become synonymous with larger-than-life fabric installations that usually involve wrapping buildings, trees, even entire cliffs with cloth.”
The most recent Christo and Jean-Claude project to have been executed is an impressive installation of floating corridors covered with orange cloth in Lake Iseo, Italy. The pair’s first project to be completed after Jean-Claude passed away in 2009, “The Floating Piers” was conceived in the 1970’s and comprises a total of 5.5 kilometres of walkways, 3 km of which float on the water by means of specially-designed polyethylene cubes.

Millennial's new media artist Tasha Alakoz based in St Petersburg works easily with commercial brands vanishing them in her personal way of colourful fashion selfies. We adore this balance that definitely requires a lot of will power and creativity and hope to see her speaking about that experience on some festivals like OFFF.
Following the recent publication in the Guardian we reveal our latest favourite Instagram photographer and Berlin-based designer Ramin Nasibov.
“Berlin-based graphic designer Ramin Nasibov began photographing hidden patterns in buildings after he noticed pockets of colour hiding among the city’s grey skyline. “You won’t believe it, but colourful architecture can be found in any city,” he says. “Even the most well-known architectural sight can be shown from an absolutely new corner.” Originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, Nasibov cites the crisp and striking aesthetic of Wes Anderson as an inspiration. “The three key properties for me are minimalism, symmetry and vibrant colours. Capturing these elements allows people to see old buildings from a new perspective.”

Prisma AI App is a new addition to kicking Russian-built family of great mobile applications that merely started from Glitché and SLMMSK (Vladimir Shreyder, promoted by me at Digitized14 conf) that changed the canvas of digital contemporary art and even influenced the showbiz. Later Facebook bought another speedy Russian filter app MSQRD (Nick Davydov) that rocketed in app store in a matter of month. Few days ago a new wave of Instagram artistic make overs started to appear by the tag #prisma
Creation of a Russian team lead by Aleksey Moiseenkov Prisma transforms your photos into artworks using the styles of famous artists: Van Gogh, Picasso, Levitan, as well as world famous ornaments and patterns. A unique combination of neural networks and artificial intelligence (same algorithm as in Deep Dream technology) helps you turn memorable moments into timeless art.
Our friend and selected artist at Digital Decade 2016 - ARTISTMARK immediately took over the new app and created an awesome artwork we share below
“I am primarily a portrait painter, lover of faces and emotions that can restore a look, an expression of body movement. I have a preference for rendering homage to the painting of the neoclassical period. the set of lights and colours that highlight the natural beauty of the models. A style that tries to get away from the dictates of modern representation of women to return to us some form of grace and gentleness.”
Talented photographer Elizaveta Porodina got new updated website full of fashion lookbooks and campaigns worth to review and admire just because her photography has a lot of references to fine art
“In her experimental fashion and fine art photography, Elizaveta Porodina travels through time and space, extracting the underlying emotions in her entrancing productions. The Moscow born studied clinical psychologist plays with melancholic symbolism, sets connotations, sometimes ambiguous, sometimes honest and obvious – her range widely varying between cinematic, fashion and almost documentary imagery. Whether in dramatic black and white or vividly colored artworks, the Munich based photographer is a master of dark romanticism.”

You might remember voyeuristic photography of Parisian citizens by Gail Albert Halaban we posted few years ago. Here is New York residents caught through his lens.
“The residents are collaborators and their apartments are lit specifically to make these pictures, which explore a defining urban experience: becoming secretly familiar with the neighbors’ most intimate moments.”
