La Fábrica

July 12, 2016 by Arseny Vesnin in Architecture, Spain, Interior Design, 2016

The Cement Factory from the first period of the industrialisation of Barcelona, “The Factory”, keeps on living as a creative space inspired by Surrealism, Astraction and Brutalism. With its Cathedral, Garden and Silos, new and old generations work together surrounded by windows, doors, stairs, false perspectives, in a continuous unfinished work.

“We found enormous silos, a tall smoke snack, four kilometers of underground tunnels, machine rooms in good shape… This was fifteen year ago and it was our first encounter with the Cement Factory. Seduced by the contradictions and the ambiguity of the place, we decided quickly to retain the factory and, modifying its original brutality, sculpt it like a work of art.”

Magical Jungles tiles in Casa Cook Hotel by Karina Eibatova

June 14, 2016 by Arseny Vesnin in Portfolios, Illustration, Interior Design, Russia, 2016
“I was asked to create a large scale drawing for the tiles of the hotel in a restaurant and a reception area. The hotel Casa Cook is situated in Greece, Rhodes and the theme of the decorative drawing was jungles. My task was to create jungles and integrated animals and a few unusual and magical half-half creatures.

The design of the hotel was created by the German studio. I was working in a collaboration together with Stefan Grüner an art director of Lambs & Lions Network, based in Berlin. ”

March 14, 2016 by Arseny Vesnin in Agencies, Architecture, Interior Design, USA, 2016

Architecture practice Grzywinski + Pons turned a house located on a typically gritty block on the Lower East Side of Manhattan into a contemporary apartment and studio building.

Loft Αpartment in Melbourne

March 07, 2016 by Arseny Vesnin in Architecture, Australia, Interior Design, Lifestyle, Photography, Portfolios, 2016

"Housed in a former butter factory, this striking Loft Apartment design by Melbourne’s AA Architects is filled with sinuous forms that both define a modern view of urban domestic living and provide a beautifully executed antidote to the rectilinear forms of conventional living spaces. Twisting and rising to fill the space with a sense of drama and intrigue, a fluid, sculptural staircase sets the tone of the whole project and carves a visual connection from the Loft’s interior spaces to the roof terrace overlooking Melbourne’s cityscape. A 100-Year-Old Church in Spain Transformed into a Skate Park Covered in Murals by Okuda San Miguel

December 16, 2015 by Arseny Vesnin in Architecture, Interior Design, Portfolios, Spain, Street Art, 2015, Art

"Originally designed by Asturian architect Manuel del Busto in 1912, the church of Santa Barbara in Llanera, Asturias, was abandoned for years and crumbling from neglect. Luckily, a group of enterprising individuals lead by a collective called the ‘Church Brigade,’ with help from online fundraising and Red Bull, the church was salvaged and turned into a public skate park dubbed Kaos Temple.

As if having a skate park inside a beautiful abandoned church wasn’t enough, artist Okuda San Miguel was commissioned to cover the walls and vaulted ceilings with his unique brand of colorful geometric figures." via Colossal
