Hitchcock-inspired interiors by Atelier Aveus

May 08, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Interior Design

Atelier Aveus shares their stunning 3D interior collection inspired by Hitchcock. In collaboration with 3D artist Ergun Ayral, they created virtual interior environment for the audience to escape inside.

atelier-aveus-4.jpg
“Hitchcock often represented the physical world as a projection of a disturbed person shown through striking set design and lighting effects. That type of “expressive decor” has been particularly interesting to work on and adapt for this project. Following this approach and cultivating the dramatic potential of the domestic sphere, we staged our new pieces of furniture in a series of visuals, almost conceived as a short storyboard.”

Everything from animation to steampunk style to lighting to details to grunge. As soon as I saw it I knew this was it! • It’s amazing to see a young female 3D artist smash it and shine in the field especially when it is such a Male saturated industry. Huge congratulations and keep up the amazing work! • I can’t begin to explain how much fun this has been for me to see over the past week and a bit. I would wake up every morning feeling it’s Christmas seeing all your submissions! So huge thank you to everyone. • • Make sure to follow the tag #billelis to see everyone’s entry and check the amazing competition. Here it is! TOP 5 Finalists💀 Please drop a comment and congratulate everyone 🤍 • The overall winner will be announced tomorrow! • I can’t begin to explain how much fun this has been for me to see over the past week and a bit. I would wake up every morning feeling it’s Christmas seeing all your submissions! So huge thank you to everyone. • To the 5 finalists, you have won 2 products from my product store. • @buttered_lemonade I simply love the style. The balance of decor. The jewels and the snake. It feels like a real museum piece. And the blending is amazing. Incredible work. • @gantelya_88 your use of colour and abstract shapes really caught my attention. It’s so vibrant and unique! All the elements blend so well and compliment the artwork. Great work again! • @theare.co.in i don’t even know where to start with this. It’s insane. I need it on my wall as an art print. Your use of anatomy and vintage medical illustrations blew my mind. It feels like what I would see if I had an acid trip in one of my favourite museums of anatomy. • @grafake.charles I love the soft vibes and textures in this. I love how you blended your piece. It feels like a scene from avatar and the glows are such a cool touch. Well done! • @christianprattvfx A few people submitted planet/geology inspired work but I love this piece so much because the topology has been shaped like a skull. It feels like some crazy pirate island you would get in a cool stylised video game. And I love the graphic style in the water. • Make sure to follow the tag #billelis to see everyone’s entry and check the amazing competition. Again a huge thank you to everyone and stay tuned to see the overall winner tomorrow! • • • #billelis #collaboration #illustration #c4d #3dart #skull #tattoo #giveaway #art #gothic #artistsoninstagram

““The key to the posthuman practice is the ability to fluidly change perspectives and manifest oneself through different identities. The posthuman has an emergent ontology rather than a stable one; in other words, the posthuman is not a singular, defined individual, but rather one who can “become” or embody different identities and understand the world from multiple, heterogeneous perspectives” and this is the core of our creative process.”

Sarofsky + FITC: "What You May Find"

April 23, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Motioncollector

For the 2020 edition of its flagship annual creative event in Toronto, design and technology event producer FITC engaged design-driven production company Sarofsky to create an epic main title piece. With the event's postponement, both companies forged a new strategy to share their powerful cinematic experience, entitled "What You May Find." Set to a new rendition of the classic hit "In The Year 2525," this rich, iconic animation offers a stark vision of "what we may find," ending with a ray of hope.

What You May Find: The Future of Innovation
What does the future hold? Can you see it? Things are progressing and changing faster and faster, sometimes, but not always for the better. As we enter the year 2020, we want to explore the future. What we want, what we imagined, and what will be. But all progress comes at a price.

What You May Find: The Future of Creativity
We live in the future now. For every new design and development, there are serious and incredible consequences. Will you find a new path, a new system, a new set of tools or a new found love for something from the past.

What You May Find: The Future of Technology
We have state of the art technology in our pockets, and access to centuries of information with only a word. Where are the flying cars and jetpacks that we envisioned and were promised? Will our advances eventually plateau, or lead to a singularity.

Elise Unreal Sculpture

April 22, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Art, Digital Art, Portfolios, Sculpture, United Kingdom

“Elise is an anonymous London-based artist creating delirious sculptures. Experimenting with mass and volume, the shapes appear solid yet intangible, somewhere on the edge between realism and an evanescent dream. Painted in pastels, cracked and imperfect, the artworks reflect on the subjectivity of aesthetics as small details and elements can influence our perception of what is harmonious and beautiful or unsettling.” via @trendland

Letter, Lotus and Legend

April 21, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Portfolios, Russia

The Moscow-based creative design studio Superdesigners just released their latest passion project “Letter, Lotus and Legend”, a four-month odyssey into the creative process that weaves “the martial grace of the samurai with the textures and fabrics of a hi-tech clothing brand.” The result is a stunning 3D video of what could be the textures & fabrics trend directions for a hi-tech clothing company.

superdesigners-2.jpg
superdesigners-1.jpg
superdesigners-3.jpg
“Martial arts have always been a breath of fresh air for western culture. Starting with the first American film adaptations about the samurai, a unified philosophy of perfecting one’s mind and spirit has been accreting additional cultural layers without losing its distinct archaic character.

We decided to distill this cluster of meaning into striking choreography familiar from films, enrobing it in eclectic technological shapes.

This piece is about how incessant contradiction and conflict within our psyche lead to feelings of dismay; these feelings are then inevitably expressed through violence and struggle, so that a fragile balance may once again be restored.”

Alexis Christodoulou

April 07, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Portfolios, South African Republic

Alexis Christodoulou, a self-taught 3D artist living in Cape Town, South Africa has spent the last 6 years building a collection of works focusing on imaginary architecture. While working professionally as a copywriter for the last decade, Alexis taught himself 3D rendering as a hobby.

From a lifelong fascination of digital worlds and 3D graphics from playing video games a boy, Alexis became frustrated with the lack of modern aesthetics represented therein. The images he creates are a simple extension of this desire to see fantastic spaces come to life that echo a more modern and clean aesthetic.

In order to make these digital spaces, often too arid, a little more humane, the artists have recorded a few messages that you will be able to discover in the exhibition.

Inside Art by Notoo Studio

April 03, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Italy, Portfolios

Notoo Studio is an Italian creative laboratory specialized in the production of 3D and photographic images, installation and set design. Inside Art is a project that pays homage to art masters like Escher and De Chirico.

View fullsize notoo-inside-art.jpg

“Inside Art is an artistic project that starts from the idea of recreating a purely two-dimensional world in 3D. The concept behind it is to bring back to life the style, shapes and colors that inspired the artist, thus creating a completely conceptual space where abstract work comes into contact with design and contemporary furnishings.

We wanted to give our interpretation of the paintings of artists such as Giorgio De Chirico, Mondrian, Magritte and Giorgio Morandi, bringing their style into the world of 3D, and creating dreamlike but at the same time contemporary environments that would allow a total immersion in the world of the painters”

Mathographics by GMUNK

March 23, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Glitch, Motioncollector, Portfolios, USA

The essence of being a creative professional is the ‘Art of Freestyle.’ This for Munky (GMUNK or Bradley G Munkowitz) means delving deep into the PsyMunk and finding those symmetries of craft and fruition that make the passion stream with inspired output. The Mathographics series is a culmination of that research, the purity and fabric of graphic design infused with optical distortions and anomalies to create statements of immersive intent and perpetual translation. The series first takes form as a series of kaleidoscopic movements, sequenced together into a short film scored and edited by frequent collaborator CallMeClark.

Visual ASMR

March 19, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Agencies, Digital Art, Japan, Motioncollector

Japanese Art studio Onesal has launched a self-initiated series of four short films proposing a novel visual approach to explain it.
Visual ASMR, or Visual Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. ASMR is the subjective experience of euphoria characterized by a combination of positive feelings and a distinct static-like tingling sensation on the skin.

onesal2.gif
onesal3.gif
onesal3.gif
onesal2.gif

Natural sculpture formations set in seemingly impossible earth-like landscapes covered by living elements of surreal colors, each film travels through each almost at a micro level, witnessing its evolution. All takes place in four other-worldly landscapes we set up to examine up close the interaction, movements and evolution of the elements with their surroundings.

mineral-min.jpg
fungi_macro-min.jpg

Each of the shorts is inspired by elements in nature, architecture and timelapse photography.
The body of work delves into textural, tactile elements morphing and interacting with each other in surreal environments.
The work set off to blur the boundaries between nature and design, simplicity and complexity, in an abstract uncompromised way.

Sound Design

Since the concept of this short film is Visual ASMR, a big emphasis was put on the sound effects of the elements when they grow, evolve, collide among each other and their surroundings. Crisp, defined sounds effects that further accentuate the movement of the elements on the screen. All the elements of the film are felt as if they were real, inviting viewers to reach out and touch them.

Mediative light installation piece from #techism creator Krista Kim title “Continuum”

Mirror or the mind.

“When I lived in Tokyo, I was a newcomer to the city and I would discover the it on foot, navigating the Japanese signage, architecture and overall system of life. On a spring day, I wandered down side streets in my neighborhood, and I suddenly chanced upon a serene Zen garden. This Zen garden was an energetic vacuum because the world seemed to stop when I stepped inside it’s parameters. I stood still, fascinated by the beauty of negative space, peace and silence. I felt serenity. It was in that moment when I understood the principle of Zen and the meaning of art.
For centuries, Zen masters created these gardens with the intention of creating empty space in the mind of the viewer.

Art is a mirror of the mind.

I realized that our digital environment, though it is virtual, is a parallel reality of human existence—this environment is new, chaotic and distracting. The key to connecting to our humanity is to find and protect our inner sanctum of silence and peace. Younger generations are at high risk of losing this inner sanctum from digital technology.
I created a digital zen garden. One that communicates pure consciousness in the digital medium through the powerful harmony of color, light and sound.”

After Silence dir. Henning Himmelreich

February 28, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Digital Art, Portfolios, Germany

Fresh graduate from the Film Academy of Baden Württemberg, Germany, Henning Himmelreich shares his short motion design film “After Silence”

After Silence addresses the inner process of mental and emotional regeneration of human psyche. To visually represent this process the film uses the imaginary from Egyptian mythology and its concept of the journey into the afterlife in an abstract manner.

The process of self-purification is visualized through both abstract and direct representations of deities and other mythological images, combined with modern graphical elements.

The protagonist is trapped in an uninhabitable world reigned by chaos, which is a visual representation of her own state of mind. As she enters subconsciousness, a mixture of self-reflection and external judgement makes her undergo self-purification. By passing all stages successfully and facing her demons she reaches a state of perfect harmony that purifies the soul.
The world around her changes correspondingly and darkness becomes light.
