Digital art of Tishk Barzanji

February 27, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Art, United Kingdom, Portfolios, 2017

"Predominantly focusing on the intricate details that go unnoticed in everyday life, Tishk Barzanji unveils an immersive exploration of space and colour, delving into the topics of digital art, graphic design and photography, in turn transforming the mundane into the extraordinary. "

"Channeling Mondrian, Magritte and Ken Price as major influences due to their iconic consideration of colour and juxtaposition, Barzanji creates surreal digital landscapes that capture his curiosity regarding the structure, diversity of cultures and atmosphere that consume his new home environment, altering perceptions along the way." text Alice Harrison via People of Print

Hacked Roomba Robot Paints like Pollock

February 16, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in 2017, Art, Digital Art, Japan, Portfolios

Has no doubts we are close to robot revolution but meanwhile can enjoy things they do while manipulated by people. Japanese artist HYde JII has modified a robotic vacuum cleaner to paint on canvas. He modified the 15-year-old iRobot Roomba last year, which now goes under the name Head-kun (Mr. Head).

He attached tubes and plastic bottles filled with paint to the Roomba and programmed it so it could shuffle about and drizzle paint as it went along. So far it's produced two abstract pieces, Spring Worm Hole (2014) and the rather fetching Spring Starburst (2015).

Transcending Boundaries

PACE
January 31, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Art, United Kingdom, Japan, 2017, Art

Butterflies flap, a wild ocean rages and a waterfall cascades through the space in teamLab’s digital art exhibition, currently on show at Pace London.

In the mind, there are no boundaries between ideas and concepts, they are inherently ambiguous and influence and interact with each other. In order for ideas and concepts to be expressed in the real world it is necessary to have a physical material substance through which they are mediated. Boundaries are created when ideas and concepts are materialized in the real world.

Within the digital domain, art is able to transcend physical and conceptual boundaries. Digital technology allows art to break free from the frame and go beyond the boundaries that separate one work from another. Elements from one work can fluidly interact with and influence elements of the other works exhibited in the same space. In this way, the boundaries between art pieces dissolve.

teamLab (f. 2001, Tokyo, by Toshiyuki Inoko) is an interdisciplinary group of ultra-technologists whose collaborative practice seeks to navigate the confluence of art, technology, design and the natural world. Rooted in the tradition of ancient Japanese Art and contemporary forms of anime, teamLab operates from a distinctly Japanese sense of spatial recognition, investigating human behavior in the information era and proposing innovative models for societal development

Digitally combined photos by Artem Pozdniakov

January 28, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Portfolios, Instagram, Digital Art, 2017

Combing few photographs or objects and brining a new sense by a collage is being practiced for a long time in art history but never has been distributed so fast until Instagram-era developing nowadays. Artem Podzniakov's Instagram is the latest addition to the wall of fame in Combined Photography, even having some repetitive works we've seen before he creates new "meaningless objects" in a very unorthodox way

Light Masonry by Jason Bruges

January 19, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Art, United Kingdom, Motioncollector, 2017

Leading light installation artist Jason Bruges was approached by Arts Council England, to make a piece for Illuminating York event went in 2016. The Festival encourages visitors to explore and discover the city through the imagination of artists, using the medium of light in all its forms.

Light Masonry is an epic, site specific, light installation based in the main nave of York Minster. The artwork is founded on the construct of creating a secondary layer of dynamic, temporal and ephemeral architecture sculptured from light. Inspired by the continuous crafting and iterating of the layers of work by the Minster’s stonemasons, the studio has investigated the relationship between the vaults, light and the audience. Drawing upon the ceremonial nature of the space, the studio has created a synchronized procession of light that highlights and explores the nave as a choreographed architectural experience. The art installation inscribes the perimeter of the main nave and is constructed from a bespoke system of 48 computer controlled Icon Beam moving head luminaires, animating a dynamic light architecture around the atmospheric volumes of the nave. The piece is immersive and complimented by the soundscape of Intervallo by Arvo Pärt, performed by John Bradbury and Benjamin Morris the Minsters organists.
