Fields of Morning by Laurence Fuller and Sedition

July 24, 2024 by Arseny Vesnin in 2024, AI Art, Digital Art, NFT Art, United Kingdom

Sedition Art platform presents artist Laurence Fuller in collaboration with Kesja Tabaczuk.

Immerse yourself in 'Fields of Morning,' a captivating collection of five digital masterpieces by Laurence Fuller, created in collaboration with the talented Kesja Tabaczuk. This unique series, adapted from the acclaimed exhibition at Arcadia Contemporary (July 11 - July 31, 2024), seamlessly blends Tabaczuk's meticulous paintings with Fuller's evocative poetry. Fuller's journey into Tabaczuk's art began on social media, where he was drawn to the intricate balance between precision and whimsy in her work. Her striking images of roaming wild animals and incomplete birds boldly defy the ordinary, inviting viewers to explore a realm where the fantastical meets the familiar.

Fields of Morning captures the first steps taken into the fields each morning with the rising sun, symbolising a journey back to self-discovery. The Lyca character is inspired by a series of poems by William Blake. The collection explores our connection to the world around us, portraying us as creators and poets of each moment. It delves into the presence and beauty of being alive.

These masterful portraits provide an open space for poetic storytelling. In today's world, figurative painting has become rare and special, contrasting the reduction of all art to the instant. Certain moments in life linger in our memories with greater potency and contemplation. When sentiment is all that remains, imagination gains even greater significance than life itself. The world around us becomes an extension of our inner lives, and beauty reflects back to us, creating a paradise in this life. Fields of Morning evokes early memories of Mother Nature, highlighting our true potential.

Pierre Chaumont

June 01, 2020 by Arseny Vesnin in 2020, Art, Digital Art, Canada, Portfolios

Pierre Chaumont is a conceptual artist living and working in Montreal, Canada. His interests surrounds systems of power and their resurgence in culture, technology and society.

Woman In Veil

Woman In Veil

“We provisionally give the name differance to this sameness which is not identical: by the silent writing of its a, it has the desired advantage to referring to differing; both as spacing / temporalizing and as the movement that structures every dissociation”
— Jacques Derrida in ''Differance'', 1968
The Beginning (Winged Lion of Mosul)

The Beginning (Winged Lion of Mosul)

Following artist’s statement, “Differance is the questioning of inherent power structures within cultural, linguistic, technological or societal systems. By making this non-identical sameness at the heart of my art-making, I mimic, imitate, copy, tweak and ultimately alter these structures. I then present something visually familiar to the viewer while keeping this spacing at the forefront of their experience.

This process has two aims; firstly I wish to make these systems apparent to you, viewers, so as to question your own relation to it. Secondly, by giving a new understanding to what we know, I reveal the fragility of these systems and the possibility for individuals and communities to interact, take part in it, and reshape it.
No structure is infallible, nothing is stable ; the world is an ever changing photograph.”

FIELD - Hidden Layer

April 10, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in Art, Digital Art, Motioncollector, United Kingdom, 2018

In a new experimental short film, FIELD explore how human identity could change as a result of artificial intelligence.

"Hidden Layer looks at the way neural networks augment our identities and change the way we think and behave. With AI increasing its influence on the decisions we make and the information we digest, how will algorithmic structures infiltrate and influence human concepts of self? What happens to AI - augmented humans if the structures they rely on collapse?

Often described in terms of what it can do for us, a neural network is complex, self-evolving and dynamic. It is also capable of decision-making autonomously, without human intervention. As such, artificial intelligence algorithms can be understood both as a way to analyse today’s complex world and as beings distinct from human influence.

The name Hidden Layer comes from a term used in the development of artificial neural networks. The Hidden Layer is neither seen nor understood by humans; it is the part of the network in which the main computation driving the network is done. Hidden Layer is part of FIELD’s broader series of works titled Second Nature, which examines Machine Learning as an entity."

The 50 Digital Artists we curated offline in 2017

December 27, 2017 by Arseny Vesnin in Digital Decade, Digital Art, Events, United Kingdom, Art, 2017

Instead of doing our classic Cream of the Top we decided to look back and underline the best thing we did this year. Definitely it was the 5th instalment of Digital Decade collaboration with 50 artists (let's say top artists of 2017 by our version) that ended in August as a group show of Phygital Art in London. And it wouldn't happen without a great support of the partners listed below:

ELLO
Curioos
Sedition Art
Ugly Duck
LUWA
Virtually Mine

Curated by Arseny Vesnin

The concept of Digital Decade5: Cyberia was “the Unknown Territories Shaped by the Digital Ethnos”. This, “Ethnos” refers to the generation of digital people that are changing our world, and continuing to influence our culture. As our world becomes increasingly digital, it ultimately transforms to become a ‘Cyberia’.

Identity of Cyberia

The whole identity of Digital Decade 5 was created by famous artist Ruslan Khasanov who has recently won ADC Young Gun 15 Award and Behance selected him to decorate their own Behance Decade :)

The curator of Digital Decade and Designcollector founder Arseny Vesnin was happy enough to cross path with leading artist Shane Griffin whose works you can see on iPhone X and 8 now. But long before this, he created a special artwork for Cyberia collaboration

The idea to get on board one of the pioneer of digital art - Aristarkh Chernyshev came to me after I revisited "Electronic Superhighway" exhibition in Whitechapel in 2016. That's how we got his famous electric marquee artwork to the walls of Cyberia exhibition

To celebrate the nightmare of all introverts and lonely hearts - the upcoming St Valentines, Sedition asked us to find 14 easy ways to say that 3 complicated words "I Love You" and of course with art. By giving a digital art you can surprise your mom, fellow, partner, lover, ex or even a dog with a new way you treat them. Of course there is no heavy burden to explain the meaning behind a contemporary piece you selected for this case. Love needs no explanation. Art neither.
