Kin-Dza-Dza by Alex Andreyev

There is a long story to tell if the words "Kin-Dza-Dza" reminds you nothing. Briefly this is a title of the famous Soviet sci-fi (with cyberpunk elements) movie directed by gifted Georgi Daneliya in 1986. Few years ago legendary director decide to go with animated version of the movie and just few days ago the fresh cartoon hit Russian cinemas. What I'd like to focus on is the environment drawings done by famous russian digital artist Alex Andreyev, we shared few of them below as well as both movies trailers.

Digital art of Anton Semenov

Dark scary digital art of Artem Semenov tells me not to visit the attic or bad sites at night. He is a member of SlashTHREE and has few of his work on a high rotation during the last few years I can't rid off from the feeling that Anton was awesomely inspired (or just reminds) by the artworks of darkest illustrator in Russia - Cmart and fiction environment artist Alex Andreev

Piadina Romagnola by Pavel Emelyanov

The way you present your design project or concept is a half of success. Russian brand designer Pavel Emelyanov following this golden rule every time he rolls out another mouthwatering example of branding. This time a small chain of italian cuisine restaurants were lucky enough to get their graphic face from the most successful Russian identity art director Pavel Emelyanov.

Paper Art by Anatoly Vorobyev

This is the delicate paper art of Anatoly Vorobyev from Siberia. Much of his work looks like regular printed illustrations, but the magical part is when you see a close-up picture of the cutout shapes. The patterns are detailed and precisely cut with a Japanese X-Acto knife. http://www.flickr.com/photos/v_a_a/ http://www.etsy.com/shop/Papercutout via

Watercolours by Elena Romanova

Born in Moscow and grown in London, Elena Romanova combined work in advertising industry and studying in Royal Acadeny School in her tender age. Few years later she set up a gallery and then through a series of exhibition appeared to represent Great Russian at the Venice Biennale in 2011. That's quite a good career and we hope to hear more from Elena, meanwhile enjoy her watercolours. http://www.etsy.com/people/PortLove

Photographer Murad Osmann creatively documents his travels around the world with his girlfriend leading the way in his ongoing series known as Follow Me To. Chronicling his adventures on Instagram, the Russian photographer composes each shot in a similar fashion. We see each landscape from the photographer's point of view with his extended hand holding onto his girlfriend's in front of him.

Good Deeds Fair mapping

Russian mapping masters from Sila Sveta did it again. This time it was a New Year visual fairy tale for kids "Good Deeds Fair" mapped on Victory Memorial in Moscow sponsored by monopolist bank (it's really strange when a customer in Russia can't stay with only a logo at the end and just be a sponsor but not a main hero dressed in corporate colours and a savior in this fairy tale).

Perelman Pencils

Using a portrait of Russian Mathematician Grigori Perelman by artist Jules Julian, designers Alan Temiraev and Volodenka Zotov created a beautifully designed pencil set. The packaging is designed so that when intact, the eight individually boxed graphite pencils make up the illustrated portrait, by Jules Julien, of the Russian mathematician Grigori Perelman, famous for solving the the legendary Poincaré Conjecture. via
