I think today is a perfect date to think about our small blue planet Earth. This documentary is a good case to think about it again not from a view point of a snowboarders slicing the ice, but the explorers showing how fast it disappears. Chasing Ice is the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of climate change. Using time-lapse cameras, his videos compress years into seconds and capture ancient mountains of ice in motion as they disappear at a breathtaking rate.

"Holly Andres is a photographer born in 1977 in Montana, USA. She currently lives and works in Portland, Oregon. She uses photography to look at the complexity of childhood, the ephemeral nature of memory and women’s introspection. Her photos tend to reflect a subject apparently available but with a second reading implied, darker and sometimes disturbing. She was exhibited around the world and published in numerous publications such as The New York Times Magazine, Time, Elle Magazine, The LA Times, Glamour, etc.. "

Pep Ventosa's work is focused on an exploration of the medium itself--deconstructing and reconstructing photographic images to create new visual experiences. I really liked his multi-exposure photography artworks featured in this post

As winter came super fast and while splashing our way through piles of snow, we hardly ever consider how unique its components actually are. Thanks to Andrey Osokin’s macro photography we can take a glimpse at the miniscule snowflakes from up close. The Moscow-based photographer demonstrates incredible patience that has to be a prerequisite in order to capture such stunning shots of the objects, which might melt shortly after touching the ground.

Without bothering Jung and its "Puer aeternus" or Pascoli with its "Little Boy", we can certainly agree that, somewhere inside each of us, there's a young core, instinctive, creative but also innocent and naïve. Check the personal project of Cristian Girotto "L' Enfant Extérieur" (The Outer Child) where he did an impressive retouch on Quentin Curtat's photography.

"Sand castle artist Calvin Seibert manages to construct nearly impossible shapes from one of the world’s most delicate mediums."
