The Brooklyn Bridge in Letterpress by Cameron Moll

Once, I was happy to listen Cameron Moll live during @Media06 conference in London - talented typographer and one of the font web standards pioneer. Later last year he successfully funded a kickstarter project following his hobby of recreating famous architectural locations in type. Thus was about The Brooklyn Bridge, re-imagined as if constructed entirely with type. Upon the beautiful project itself Cameron shares the details on how Kickstarter project went for him. brooklynbridge-cameron-moll-1

Elsewhere by Von

Illustrator Von's latest solo exhibition, Elsewhere, opens at KK Outlet in London next week. Elsewhere, is a collection of delicately beautiful drawings based on photographs shot by Dan Sully. Each portrait in the collection explores those fleeting moments where we involuntarily slip under and away from all of our surroundings, appearing to others absent and completely elsewhere.

"Based in London, Von studied illustration and animation at Kingston University and set up his own studio, HelloVon, in 2006. He's since produced work for Nike, Selfridges, Penguin, the New Yorker and the Paralympic Games and has exhibited fine art work in London, New York and Los Angeles, including the beautiful graphite and pencil series Animals and Semblance, a collection of portraits combining traditional and digital image-making techniques. For his latest exhibition, Elsewhere, Von has created another series of graphite and pencil drawings, this time depicting subjects who are lost in thought. The show includes both large and small-scale artworks and Von has collaborated with Non-Format, HORT, David Pearson and Darren Firth on a set of limited edition exhibition posters, available to buy on his website."

Saint-P bars illustrated by Ekaterina Khozatskaya

Over 30mln people wants to visit the city we love and live in and only 3-4 of them really able to do this each year. For the last 5 years Saint-Petersburg city eat culture changed dramatically, dozens of indpendent bars, indie/vegan/burgers cafes opened around the city by young entrepreneurs. Lots of youth move from one place to another healing the culture of this once forgotten city. Among them I'd like to mention young illustrator Ekaterina Khozatskaya depicting the evening atmosphere in her notebooks with watercolours and inks. If you happen to live in Russia you may follow her "Between The Bars" community.

Splashy Letter Art by Niels Shoe Meulman

Having featured Niels Shoe Meulman’s calligraphy in 2012 and 2013, it seems like a good time to check up on the artist. This year he is using pearlized acrylic paint which changes colors when viewing at different angles. It is also fascinating to see images of his painting process showing the various brushstroke layers that form his eye-catching work.
