Paperlux, Hamburg does not hide their excitement over the recent project made for legendary house music producer Boris Dlugosch
“What would you say if a house music legend, that only a few years ago made you get up in the middle of the night, cue at the club »Front« in Hamburg and dance till dawn, now asks you design his 20th anniversary vinyl cover?
We can’t believe our luck and keep pushing’! Very graphic and pure, but also complex and a little bit playful – that’s what we wanted the design to imply. Reduced to the beginnings: Detroit’s concrete, urban straightforwardness and a vibrant red served as our ingredients.
The vinyl does without the obsolete list of tracks and is covered by a paper sleeve that is also a poster. The cover illustrates the twenty years and you can see the »Keep Pushin’« transforming into »Still Pushin’« through the die-cut paper. The font GT Haptik provided the necessary rectilinearity with a playful twist.
Everything was printed via silk-screen printing. Together with the French paper group Arjowiggins we produced a second edition sporting four colours of their bright and lively Pop’Set collection. So now what? Don your dancing shoes and forever Pushin’!”

"Brian Ziff presents the Schön Magazine exclusive, "Rite of Spring." In this haunting series, we watch as the new season emerges from the death of the last; nectar flows, hummingbirds suckle and flowers bloom as the cold, hapless body of winter succumbs to the verdant inevitability of spring. Each tableau is first shot and composited by Brian Ziff, and then painstakingly animated by Ethan Chancer, creating a moment forever in limbo as nature's yearning tendrils thread the darkness under the trance of a soft, crisp breeze."

The OFFF CDMX Main Titles 2016 are directed and produced by MATERIA, an interdisciplinary collective, founded by Susi Sie and Remo Gambacciani.
The Main Titles for OFFF CDMX 2016 were produced by combining analog and digital techniques; blurring the boundaries to become one. Deeply inspired by the complexity of nature, MATERIA explores the uniqueness of highly detailed structures and organic shapes.
The score is composed and played by Nikolai von Sallwitz using real instruments (such as cello, bows, cymbals, woods, sticks and kalimba’s combined with voice and piezo mic) and hardware FX (such as analog synths, loads of stomp boxes like ring modulator, pitcher/octaver, delay, grain synthesis, reverbs, looper, filters and analog drum machine).

“5 years ago on a photoshoot in spain, I found a little homeless dog looking for food. I gave him the Name “Tschikko Leopold von Werner” and took him back to Germany. From day one I noticed that he looks like a lion with his bright eyes and the color of his hair. I made him a mane und I started to portrait him in various landmarks around Hamburg, my adopted home. Now, Tschikko Leopold von Werner, is conquering the city as the famous GROSSSTADTLÖWE”

“My work is a challenge to find a paint method that could be sensory, emotional but cruelly true and real at the same time. I take people I know or find and I get inspired from their natural gesture and the sensation that I find in them. I observe what they evoke in me, and I want to transfer this kind of emotional feeling to the people that observe my paintings. I try to find a way to let my figures breath, move, think – but not only in their physical appearance. I don’t want to make a realistic paint, but a real painting, with all the sensation of their action. This is why I start from gesture, because is instinctive, it is pure, it is just a reaction to something external about us. Then I arrive to work on flesh with this caducity or freshness. This is the approach on my artwork, a continuous curiosity in development, life, communication, exchange.”
Following the recent publication in the Guardian we reveal our latest favourite Instagram photographer and Berlin-based designer Ramin Nasibov.
“Berlin-based graphic designer Ramin Nasibov began photographing hidden patterns in buildings after he noticed pockets of colour hiding among the city’s grey skyline. “You won’t believe it, but colourful architecture can be found in any city,” he says. “Even the most well-known architectural sight can be shown from an absolutely new corner.” Originally from Baku, Azerbaijan, Nasibov cites the crisp and striking aesthetic of Wes Anderson as an inspiration. “The three key properties for me are minimalism, symmetry and vibrant colours. Capturing these elements allows people to see old buildings from a new perspective.”
Talented photographer Elizaveta Porodina got new updated website full of fashion lookbooks and campaigns worth to review and admire just because her photography has a lot of references to fine art
“In her experimental fashion and fine art photography, Elizaveta Porodina travels through time and space, extracting the underlying emotions in her entrancing productions. The Moscow born studied clinical psychologist plays with melancholic symbolism, sets connotations, sometimes ambiguous, sometimes honest and obvious – her range widely varying between cinematic, fashion and almost documentary imagery. Whether in dramatic black and white or vividly colored artworks, the Munich based photographer is a master of dark romanticism.”
