Megafaces Sochi - 1st Russian Cannes Lions Gran Prix

Cannes, France — Russia made history here tonight on 21th of June 2014, winning the Grand Prix in the Innovation Lions category for a telecom's installation at the Sochi Olympics that used sophisticated technology to let visitors take giant 3-D "selfies" on a board that acted like a huge pin screen. The so-called MegaFaces Pavilion, sponsored by MegaFon, consisted of 11,000 telescopic cylinders, each of which represented a pixel. As on a pin screen, the cylinders could extend to form the shape of the faces, and LED lights at the ends of the cylinders added the proper color and shading. The data for the 3-D faces was generated in 3-D photo booths inside the building.

Traveling Lights

As many other creative studios "We Think Things" has a lot of "geometric leftovers" after branding brainstorms spreading across the computer' disks , and one day guys eventually did a nice shape animation.

We liked the idea of combining simple shapes and then creating a completely new context, only by excluding intersecting shape areas.

In our case – a circle and a triangle became the snowy top of a mountain in front of the sun. With this picture in mind we started developing a minimalistic world, brought to life by the use of ambient noise and a haunting minimalistic score

320° LICHT

The "320° Licht" installation of URBANSCREEN uses the cathedral-like beauty of the Gasometer as the starting point for a fascinating game with shapes and light.Within a radius of 320 degrees graphic patterns grow and change on the 100-metre high inside wall of the Gasometer.

“This experience is based on the vastness of the Gasometer,” sound designer Jonas Wiese told the Creator’s Project. “We tried to work with that expression to make the space bigger and smaller, to deform it and to change its surface over and over while not exaggerating and overwriting the original effect of the room.” He continues, “the age of the screen is coming to an end, digital interfaces will dissolve and merge into the social space [...] we poetically contribute to this through art.”

Walking City

Architecture + Evolution + Movement = Universal Everything Referencing the utopian visions of 1960’s architecture practice Archigram, Walking City is a slowly evolving video sculpture. The language of materials and patterns seen in radical architecture transform as the nomadic city walks endlessly, adapting to the environments she encounters.
