Art Project OE20

February 02, 2015 by Arseny Vesnin in 2015

20.okeanelzy.com — is an interactive project, that celebrates legendary Ukrainian band Okean Elzy’s 20-th anniversary. This website is a virtual museum, dedicated to the history of the band, that played a crucial role in the cultural upbringing of a recently independent country. The museum itself was created by a professional architect. Eight different installations combined the latest art trends with album cover art, successfully beating the challenge of bringing real art into the interactive space of the virtual museum. The project was designed by VGNC and is already available for voting on The FWA

Lxury - Square 1

January 30, 2015 by Arseny Vesnin in 2015

Lxury - Square 1 feat. Deptford Goth. "Simple vision, with a simple life.
That's why I ghosted you.
There is nothing simpler than body language. I've been reading and researching a lot about rituals, especially in Africa and old Mesopotamia. And I was quite amazed when I discovered the African ritual funeral dances. They explain so many things only through dance. In particular the Dogon funeral ritual, I've used this ritual as a narrative inspiration." says Mau Morgo, the director of a movie

Interpol - Everything is Wrong

January 22, 2015 by Arseny Vesnin in 2015

Last year, Interpol frontman Paul Banks directed his band’s boxing-focused video for “Twice As Hard,” a song from their album El Pintor. He’s now made another one, a black-and-white video for “Everything Is Wrong.” The clip follows the three members of Interpol around New York as they get ready for a show. I personally like the first few second when Paul gives an eye on his actual wife - supermodel Helena Christensen (the hottest teenage dream of my puberty due to her appearance in Wicked Games music video)

Danton Eeprom - Kissing In Traffic

January 15, 2015 by Arseny Vesnin in TOP 2015, 2015

Does the world need another EP made for people to dance to at 3am? Probably not. Especially if you look at it the way Danton Eeprom does. “I like my club tunes, I make no bones about it, but my idea of a good dancefloor tune has evolved dramatically over the years to the point I can't be sure it makes any sense to anyone else but me anymore.” His new track Kissing in Traffic brings bouncing, EQ'd bass lines in and out of earshot while a gentle 120 bpm rhythm wiles away, accentuated by melodic top line hooks daydreaming through the tapestry. "Kissing In Traffic" is a postcard written and sent to himself the last time he visited that place so he could look at it when it all becomes a bit much; a true memento, and a genuine Souvenir.

Sia - Elastic Heart feat. Shia LaBeouf & Maddie Ziegler

January 12, 2015 by Arseny Vesnin in TOP 2015, 2015

Let us start the year with this beautiful piece of choreography conducted by talented young Maddie Ziegler (see Sia's previous music video with Maddie) and "not famous anymore" actor Shia LaBeouf. No doubts this will be our selection for Top 2015 this December.

P.s. Some pathetic people find this video inappropriate. I am not sure if they know ballet/dancing world very well.

"The Australian pop singer Sia felt forced to apologise promptly, tweeting: “I apologize to those who feel triggered by #ElasticHeart My intention was to create some emotional content, not to upset anybody." But other voices have demanded caution when making such grave accusations, with Barbara Ellen from the Guardian wondering: “Can't a grown man and a young girl produce art with edge and beauty of any kind without a squalid sexual subtext instantly being read into it?"

Truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Mujuice - La La Land

December 20, 2014 by Arseny Vesnin in TOP 2014, 2014

The most talented Russian electronic composer and musician Roma Litvinov best known as Mujuice is back with a new acid trippy music video released to support new album Planetarium

This video is made out of bits and pieces of my trips and experiences. There is no specific narrative, — all of it is made from scraps of what I filmed in LA and along the Pacific coast. I like working with scattered materials, putting them together again and again like pieces of the puzzle.

The Acid - Ghost

December 19, 2014 by Arseny Vesnin in 2014

The electro dream team The Acid returns with a surreal feast for senses

“Originally the inspiration came from a story I heard about Ray Charles being a huge Corvette fan,” says Petecia Le Fawnhawk, co-director of the latest release from transatlantic supergroup, The Acid. “I was overcome with awe as I stood in front of a 1967 Stingray, thinking of how it would be to discover such a magnificent creation through touch and the wonder of being born blind. I shared my idea with Eliot [Lee Hazel] who immediately had an emotional connection as his father was blind.” Set amidst stark Californian Dumont Dunes that evoke the backdrop of Salvador Dalí’s "La Femme Nue Dans Le Desert," the new video conjures up an appropriately surreal universe.

"Ghost" is taken from The Acid's 2014 debut album, Liminal, released on Infectious Music/Mute Records.

Röyksopp - Skulls

December 01, 2014 by Arseny Vesnin in TOP 2014, 2014

"Skulls" was the first track taken from the album "The Inevitable End", a song that comes with an invitation and a stark warning, set amongst squelchy bass lines and filtered synths. Norwegian director and long time collaborator Stian Andersen made the haunting black and white film that accompanies the song.

It follows the ominous journey of Svein and Torbjørn with friends and 83 year-old Adolf into dark woods and dark places.
