Artist Residence London

Our new addition to Interior Design Gallery is London's Artist Residence opened during 2014 in a mid-19th-century listed building in Pimlico which was renovated over the course of a whole year and decorated by its two young owners, hoteliers Justin Salisbury and Charlotte Newey. "Following an ‘‘eclectic luxury’’ approach that combines vintage design with contemporary art, Charlotte and Justin have filled the hotel with original art prints and vintage objects sourced in galleries and antique shops across the UK and Europe. The result is a very personal, inviting space that skilfully mixes contrasting elements with surprising results." writes Yatzer

One Second Animated Everyday

You might remember the mobile app we supported 2 years ago and still use it to create an endless archive of our lives by recording a second a day. Here is a guys (actually brothers) that went further and without the help of any app. Meet The Brothers McLeod and their award-winning animation "365". Greg animated one second of animation every day for the 365 days of the year 2013. There was no storyline, script or storyboard. The ideas come from things read, seen or experienced on the day, with a little artistic license for good measure. http://vimeo.com/83155234

Pennethorne’s Café, London, UK

Somerset House, one of London’s major cultural institutions, is now home to the brand new café and bar Pennethorne’s designed by SHH Architects. Situated on the west face of the neoclassical building, looking out onto Lancaster Place and Waterloo Bridge, the new day-to-night venue has been named after Sir James Pennethorne — the highly-reputed architect of the 19th century who was responsible for Somerset House’s 'New Wing' (which now houses the café/bar) as well as other landmarks in London

Marks & Spencer's 2014 Christmas Advert

Magic and Sparkle are out transforming Christmas on behalf of Marks & Spencer. Moving Pictures completed over a hundred visual effects shots in RKCR/Y&R’s 2014 Christmas campaign for M&S, directed by Philippe Andre through Independent Films. A cheeky fairy named ‘Magic’ and her fledgling cohort ‘Sparkle’ take to the skies over Christmas to transform it with the help of M&S, swapping a dull alarm clock for a brassiere, revamping a drab wardrobe into a clothesline of glittering dresses and bringing two lovers together.

Chris Labrooy’s Fantasy Vehicles in “Tales of Auto Elasticity”

UK graphic designer and artist Chris Labrooy riffs on custom car culture in his latest digital illustration series, “Tales of Auto Elasticity.” A follow-up to last year’s “Auto Aerobics,” in which Labrooy placed his bendy, sculptural low riders in a city park, “Tales of Auto Elasticity” shows pick-up trucks with yogic flexibility bending to extreme degrees in a rural parking lot. via Hi-Fructose

Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

When it comes to showcasing Gareth Pugh fashion, I leave all the work behind and sit down to write this in a onebreathe. Hence the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection deeply reminds me the work of Leon Bakst but imagine he met Nosferatu or someone from the dark side of Pagan mythology, deep, dark and captivating. Gareth Pugh caused a stir for S/S 15 by eschewing his usual slot on the Paris Fashion Week schedule and kicking off New York Fashion Week with an immersive live experience, made in collaboration with Lexus. The event featured three short films that combined Pugh’s designs with performances by models, choreographed by Wayne McGregor. Filmmaker and artist Andrew Thomas Huang served as creative director. SHOWstudio is proud to exclusively release the films - Megalith, Chaos, and Ascension - alongside a gallery of images that show off Pugh's S/S 15 collection in detail.

Sainsbury's Christmas 2014

Just in time of celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The First World War, UK largest retail chain Sainsbury released its beautiful cinematography aimed to remember people about peace. It's totally sick that we still don't have it on Earth.

AKQA - Clerkenwell Offices

We are obsessed with awesome interior examples and here is the new one to explore. Amos and Amos have recently completed the design of a new office in Clerkenwell, London for global ideas and innovation company AKQA. Amos and Amos have referenced London’s historic docks and warehouses for the interiors of new London offices designed for global ideas and innovation agency AKQA. Amos and Amos rose to the challenge of working with a client with exceptionally high standards and a willingness to take risks in order to achieve something original. The result is a richly layered and textured space where almost everything has been custom made – a unique working environment for AKQA in the world of often standardised office design.

Ajaz Ahmed, Founder and CEO of AKQA said: “Amos and Amos have created a soulful new home for our team in London. AKQA’s new space encourages collaboration, creativity and agility. It is a workspace where creativity abounds and represents the adaptive and flexible way in which our teams create.”
