Captivating figurative paintings by Houston-based artist Kevin Peterson . I don't know why but some of his works remind me neoclassical masterpieces of Jacques-Louis David, maybe it is just a play of colours, light and shadows but anyway there is definitely something between Kevin's picture and the eyes "My work is about the varied journeys we take through life. It’s about growing up and living in a world that is broken. These paintings are about trauma, fear and loneliness and the strength that it takes to survive and thrive. They each contain the contrast of the untainted, young and innocent against a backdrop of a worn, ragged, and defiled world. Support versus restraint, bondage versus freedom, and tension versus slack are all themes that I often visit. My work deals with isolation, loneliness and longing teamed with a level of optimistic hope. Issues of race and the division of wealth have arisen in my recent work. This work deals with the idea of rigid boundaries, the hopeful breakdown of such restrictions, as well as questions about the forces that orchestrate our behavior."
Geometric tattoos by Nazareni Tubaro is the special case to post them here just because they are perfect Photos by Juan Salvarredy
Born in France, raised in art in Strasbourg settled down in Paris for searching clients and illustration work. His personal playground called "Faunesque" serves bright examples of commercial illustration as well as personal. And especially one that feature tattooed characters whether they are penciled in Moleskines or digitally inked.
Inspired by brash light, vivid color and glitter, and the punk music scene, Natalia Fabia paints photorealistic images of after-hours bars and parties. Her 2010 series “Punk Rock Rainbow Sparkle” was based on staged photo shoots of lingerie-clad girls that captured a raw yet decadent sensibility. The provocatively posed models, many of whom are Fabia’s friends, sport glitter, tattoos, and clunky jewelry, seeming both tough and heartbreakingly vulnerable at the same time. http://www.nataliafabia.com/ via art.sy

Some of you might have seen the collaboration work "The Tattooed Poster" of Mathias Nösel, Steffen Baumgartl, Alexander Nagel, Levent Aydin for Munich based The Chaos Crew tattoo studio. We got a chance to speak with illustrator Levent Aydin whose artworks and sketches were among all other tattooed on a real skin poster.
DC: What is the idea behind The Tattooed Poster and how you get involved?
Levent: The Idea was to assemble important events of 2011 into one oversize tattoo to show the skills of the bavarian tattoo artists of Chaos Crew Studio. The special was that the project was tattooed on real calfskin to achieve the highest grade of realism and authenticity. Mathias Nösel, the Junior Art Director of Serviceplan saw some of my works on behance and asked me to illustrate for their new project.
DC: What was the biggest challenge in your part of work? Levent: I think my biggest challenge in my part of work was to illustrate the motives that I had to do in a way that everybody can recognize it in just a few seconds. Therefore I chose typical attributes of the particular motives like peter falk as columbo with his typical musing pose.
DC: How long did it take you and the whole team to complete it? Levent: The whole project began in december and ended in may. I had about 8 days to illustrate all the motives that I had to do. I enjoyed to work for such an outstanding project and I am looking forward to hopefully start the next one soon.
