Sculptor Bernardi Roig uses electric light as a metaphor for this mutation: fluorescent tubes encase his subjects, blinding them. The Artist explores the dynamics of voyeurism by revisiting classical myths, baroque iconography, and memento mori, filtered through the fundamental issues of post-modern thought. By uniting his own philosophical and literary appropriations, Roig has defined a modern form of realism.

If we look back to the history of arts, we find that the state of a modern day sculpture shows a mental health of an epoch. Wherever it was tied with any theological concept, aesthetic meaning of life or any other practical needs. Lets take a look at the modern sculpture and think a bit how it inspires and what senses it calls out.
Quite scary but thoughtful installation Matchstickman by artist Wolfgang Stiller that touches and makes sense
I can't explain how much energy and patience one need to carve a flower from a carrot for a lovely salad but this pencil carving is out of my understanding and simply amazing. Budapest based let's say miniaturist sculptor Cerka Hegyzo creates masterpieces from a pencil's graphite. Endless inspiration ahead http://cerkahegyzo.deviantart.com/

Two of his most beautiful works depict crashing waves sculpted from thin layers of precisely cut wood and glass titled La Vague and Maestrale. via
A kind of pseudo-science or homespun natural phenomena characterizes Jacobs’ work whose protagonists are typically at odds with an increasingly anxious and paranoid world. Only in their futile attempt at transcending their reality and achieving the impossible do they succeed http://patrickjacobs.info/
