#StoriesInMyHands with Ibrahim Hammada

Via Instagram Blog: For Ibrahim Hammada (@ibrsoul), hands have unique powers of expression. “I used to hold my mother’s hands tightly when I felt anxious, and that always helped me relax,” says Ibrahim, a Syrian doctor who now lives in Koblenz, Germany. “Growing up, I realized that the power of our hands is not limited to touch but has something visual, too.” Ibrahim has always been drawn to art and architecture and he began the #StoriesInMyHands project as a way to do what he loves in his spare time. “When it is difficult for me to find words to express, my photos can do the job.”

City Layouts by Luis Dilger

"Topography, architecture and traffic routes give every city a unique structure. These conditions create the typical and individual inner structure of a city.I didn't only want to show these structures in the conventional way from above but also including the exact three-dimensionality of topography and buildings - a real world visualisation. Google's OpenStreetMap data enabled me to visualize the satellite-based information using DEM Earth in Cinema 4D. The results are some extraordinary views of large capitals and small towns." Architectural Density in Hong Kong

With seven million people, Hong Kong is the 4th most densely populated places in the world. However, plain numbers never tell the full story. In his "Architecture of Density" photo series, German photographer Michael Wolf (previously) explores the jaw-dropping urban landscapes of Hong Kong. He rids his photographs of any context, removing any sky or horizon line from the frame and flattening the space until it becomes a relentless abstraction of urban expansion, with no escape for the viewer’s eye. Infinite and haunting.

Hyperreal Paintings by Mike Dargas

"It almost seems like Cologne-based painter Mike Dargas was inspired by Blake Little's honey-covered people when he was painting these hyperreal works. He transfers images of women's faces covered in honey onto the canvas. We're once more impressed by the skill to transfer photographs utterly perfect into large-scale paintings." says iGNANT

Mural Portals created by 1010

"Over the last year or so, German street artist 1010 created several of his fantastic spray paint portals in locations around Germany, Panama, and the United States. 1010 brings surprising layers of depth to drab facades and blank gallery walls by painting concentric layers of color. The artist most recently had a solo show at Hashimoto Contemporary in San Francisco titled Limbus." via Colossal

PaperTrophy by Holger Hoffmann

"Inspired by the classic animal trophies I set out to find a timeless design you love to look at every day. The complex yet simple polygon structure reflects the modern design-approach. The Papertrophy animals feature a minimalistic cubic design. It represents simplicity while offering an astonishing look through shadows and light on the trophies. Their bright and vibrant colors create depth and radiate an extravagant elegance." says Holger Hoffmann, the artist behind the project PaperThrophy
