Pause Fest is a manifestation of the digital and creative industries featuring the world's most creative minds of the 21st century within the Melbourne CBD. Pause Fest is about the new, innovative, interactive, exciting, creative and contemporary. Pause 2011 is just over and we are able to watch amazing set of festival titles and splashes created by talented motion designers.
Every year a group of the world's elite designers and technologists take to the shores of Brighton Beach to meld their minds into one creative energy - known as FLASH ON THE BEACH.. Each year one artist is commissioned to create the title sequence for the conference. This time multi-talented Bradley G Munkowitz aka GMUNK played this role.

2nd Yota Space festival of Digital Arts will take a part in Saint-Petersburg, 22 October - 4 December 2011. It's now opened for international call for submissions. Designcollector might take a part there speaking about motion and digital talents of motherland Russia.
We continue reveal what awesome has happened at OFFF 2011 Russian Panel this June, and I made a short film compilation from some motion works we featured and videos from the scene. Please take your seats and enjoy this half hour video.

21 June This day has started with awesome news - Russian Leo Burnett Moscow gained Bronze Lion in Direct with "Photoshooting" campaign for WWF. But what is most awesome, is that the day ended with 2 awesome news - Gold Lion in Outdoor for Lego again by Leo Burnett, and Bronze Lion in Media Lions for Yekaterinburg based agency Voskhod for their simple and cool campaign "Book Fresheners" for "100000 Books" stores.

Dmitry Karpov - the tutor of a Moscow based British High School of Art & Design recently shared an awesome news: Russian students took D&AD Yellow Pencil (2nd place) in Digital Design/Graphic design (no 1st place in a category for this year) and Silver Pencil for Interactive Design by Marina Tristan and 4 In Book awards!
Svetlana Shokhanova, Nataliya Sinelshchikova, Mikhail Krivoruchko did an awesome iPad app concept for a Taschen brief. Watch the video under the cut.

Later last year world-famous enfant terrible of design Ora-Ïto presented Evo-Mobil for Citroen. And this month in Milan he revealed a second concept of a mobility - "UFO" - a juxtaposed piece of contemporary art and futuristic mobile vehicle.
On the edge of the hypothesis and contemporary art, Ora-Ïto presents hybrid objects associated to the research and innovation department of the dynastic Citroën. Baptized «Evomobil» and “UFO” these two monumental sculptures are the crossing of Citroën’s Icons and a reflection from the past to the future. Based on the process of the evolution, the vison of Ora-Ito combine historic and sociological testimony by putting aside established codes. The iconoclastic artist was not dreaming about another concept car but a genetic transformation to spread an universal message to the car industry through his artistic vision and new directions never investigated before

Brit Insurance Designs of the Year is the Design Museum’s annual exploration of the most innovative, interesting and forward-looking new work in design of all kinds, from around the world.
The exhibition presents around 100 projects which are a selection from those nominated by a group of internationally respected design experts, curators, critics, practitioners and enthusiasts. The nominated designs fall into seven categories - architecture, fashion, furniture, graphics, interactive, product and transport. They can be designed by a practice, team or individual. A winner for each category will be selected by an international jury and one overall winner is awarded Brit Insurance Design of the Year 2011 at the awards dinner on March 15

We love fashion (but less than our Fashioncollector bloggess Olga Bohan). While watching recent Galliano's Fall Winter 2011-2012 collection, series of images shot the brain "Winter. Russia. Bakst. Dyagilev..." etc. etc. Pure awesome and literally inspiring John Galliano. Must watch.
