Moderat and Monkeytown Records are happy to welcome you to their next chapter. Back in 2017, Moderat announced an extended break following a final concert in their hometown Berlin in front of 17.000 people (bless I personally experienced that show in 2016 in St.Petersburg) – and now they return with the new single Fast Land.
The new album is called MORE D4TA, features ten new tracks and is scheduled for release on May 13, 2022. After spending the better part of two decades making music together, Sascha Ring (Apparat), Gernot Bronsert & Sebastian Szary (Modeselektor) carved out a sound and aesthetic that are all their own, and MORE D4TA showcases a group that’s creatively recharged and fully dedicated to its craft.
Trentemøller’s new album 'Memoria' seems to exist at the confluence of inspiration, coincidence, and maybe even a little bit of the supernatural. On 'Like A Daydream' Lisbet Fritze's earnestly delivered vocals are buoyed up by carillon guitar, tethered to a relaxed drum shuffle, by a progression of bass chords.
The Presets have kicked off 2022 with their first new song in almost four years: a buzzy, club-primed house joint titled ‘You Belong’.
Released later last year “This Time” by Nina Kraviz is a track where she “put my main focus on the arrangement and on the vocals to create a warm yet sultry atmosphere that my favorite pop music is known for.”
Danish composer, musician and producer Trentemøller announces his new studio album 'Memoria' which is set for release in early 2022 on his own label In My Room alongside the first single 'In The Gloaming' which is released today.
"Without You It Rains Everyday"...Farah laments as she hypnotizes us once again. Effortlessly alternating between English & Farsi, her vivid brand of poetry is one of a kind.
“Directed by Rome's Robotina & produced by Johnny Jewel, "Fountain of Youth" is the latest single to hold us over while we anxiously await her full length.
The animated short film pays tribute to her grandfather Ali Nemat’s legendary Khatam work. As a prominent figure in the sphere of Persian art, he specialized in intricately inlaid work by hand. Nemat was the first to break the mold of geometric patterns. This film pulls inspiration from his work as well as Farah's Persian heritage. Our heroine walks the streets of her dreams alone. In a world where ancient shapes morph into modern forms...echoes from her past become the road of her future. Her search for everlasting life continues in "Fountain Of Youth". “

While Modeselektor’s recent Extended mixtape is populated with all sorts of musical experiments, even the duo’s most ardent fans might be surprised by Dating is in China, which is quite possibly the most overtly pop track they’ve ever created. A collaboration with Argentinian artist (and Monkeytown regular) Catnapp, it’s also the title track of the third EP released in Extended’s aftermath, following on from Mean Friend and Social Distancing.

“I’ve always loved pop music. Some of my favourite writers and singers are female, many who are younger than me but who are absolutely smashing the pop world with amazing songs. This song started off as an experiment and ended up being one of my favourites on the record. Along with our alternative side, this creates a light and shade on our album that I’ve always wanted to achieve.”
A film by Rebecca Salvadori. 'Hard To Tell' is taken from Andy Stott's new album 'Never The Right Time', released via Modern Love on April 16th 2021.
Look who is back. The one half of Justice - Gaspard Augé (now I’m 99% sure they were Daft Punk) has just released his solo debut “Force Majeure”
“Created in an unforgiving year, “Work” became a refuge, a place to find solace from the outside world. The inescapable thump of Modeselektor’s “Extended” left me embodying mundane tasks so intensely that not only did these tasks become important but their original purpose was forgotten, the “doing” more significant than any result. I rediscovered the intention of simple tasks to create my reality without regard to any past. I structured “Work” in a way that asks the performer not to “perform”, but to drench themselves in a state of process. By fully embodying each task I find myself in a minefield of emotion. “Work” is an exorcism of boredom in both its creation and in its practice. One will undoubtedly reflect and feel different from before it all began.... again + again... from a lonely pew.”
