In traditional Russian culture we are afraid of the face of death, we are afraid to talk about it, to think, to avoid the possibility of becoming a witness or to disturb the memories of loss. But this is a natural, important part of our life, which we all have touched or will face across one day. It seems to us that then everything will go out, lose color, meaning. But it is not.

EQUATEUR is a Parisian artist whose musical universe oscillates between two musical hemispheres: electro pop and synth wave.
It is the name chosen by Charles Rocher, author, composer and producer to draw his imaginary line between retro-futuristic, hypnotic and melancholic sounds.
His first album "Burn The Sun", marks the entrance of EQUATEUR on the French electro scene. Hailed by critics Radio Nova compares it even to Kavinsky and M83, with titles like "The Lava" and "Haunted". He collaborates with other artists on "Absolut" feat. Sophie Tith and "93.2" feat. 86 Joon.
Nowadays EQUATEUR returns to new latitudes with a first single in French: PELICAN. Mixed by Stéphane "Alf" Briat (Air, Phoenix, The Pirouettes...) and mastered by Alex Gopher (The Blaze, Breakbot, Eddy Pretto ...).
Following up her first upfront single „Down in the Basement“, Catnapp is introducing her second single taken from her debut album „Break“ (out on July 5th).
„The Mover“, featuring Modeselektor, is a slow burning, bass-heavy song about standing up for yourself and showing strength. It opens with the line „Don’t you tell me what to do“, an eternal credo for both Catnapp and Modeselektor, two generations of maverick electronic artists.
