"Unstable Matter is kinetic sculpture by Finnish artists Tommi Grönlund and Petteri Nisunen, a.k.a. Grönlund-Nisunen. The moving table contains thousands of small ball bearings that move and crash within the confines of a giant wobbly table, sort of a modern take on a rain stick." via Colossal The table is part of several kinetic and magnetized works by the duo that were recently on view at Esther Schipper in Berlin.

Quite scary but thoughtful installation Matchstickman by artist Wolfgang Stiller that touches and makes sense
Designcollector has been supporting TOCA ME conference for ages but pity has never been to Munich, hope we do it next year. In Special Titles for 2013 Event director Timo Böse came up with this blend of classic meets modern. Through interrelated pictorial elements and subtle modulation of intense colours and soothing sound, he suffused his piece with a vibrant softness. The traditional Still Life arrangements are enhanced by subtle 3D animations, evoking the artists associated with the event.

Berlin-based Korean artist Jeongmoon Choi redefines a space with her incredibly eye-catching light and thread installations. All of Choi's spacial constructs allow audiences to roam within the rooms illuminated by spectacular UV lights. Many of the artist's works project abstract forms, creating an illusionary geometric matrix of woven string that stretch across the expanse of the exhibition site. The installations create a visual playground filled with colors, shapes, and an immeasurable liveliness for visitors to get lost in. A collection of Choi's work is currently showing as part of her solo exhibition titled Dialogue Lineaire in Paris at Galerie Laurent Mueller through January 26, 2013.

"These melting disco balls are the work of German collective Rotganzen. The installation, titled Quelle Fête, features scattered disco balls in various stages of melting. No longer operable or spinning, they lie lazily on the floor." Regarding the concept, Rotganzen says:“Our conscious choice of the material and form contains a contrast to the message. It’s a reminder of the momentousness of glamour and swiftly passing glory. What once may have been a perfect shape takes on a new character and meaning. However, rather than a cynical take on reality, our intention is to offer a playful approach to observing our object of depiction.”
Once, photographer Juliette Lewis was inspired by the idea of having musicians’ pictures taken right after the show: «That’s the only way to show how we really are» – sweaty, exhausted, but happy. And the, since 2005, photographer Matthias Willi and journalist Olivier Joliat managed to inspire about 100 bands to take part in their project. Now, they present their book: «The Moment After the Show». At the end they released a book "The Moment After the Show" featuring all photographies they did
There was a time I bought a copy of "Jurassic Park" PC game on 3 branded floppies, and it is still a time we have "Save" function in all computer systems replaced by the iconic methaphor of a floppy disk. The triumph of the icon continues and take strange forms from post-its to coffee tables. Berlin-based design duo Neulant van Exel have the broad portfolio you might expect from a collaboration between an architect and sculptor, and their latest project, "Floppy Table" is a surefire hit.

Colors And The Kids formed in 2008, having originally bonded over a mutual love of Bauhaus when they first met some years earlier in Weimar, Germany. Before long, Elisabeth Schulze (Fine Art, Visual Art), Sebastian Gerbert (Media Systems, Media Art) and Maik Bluhm (Media Art, Visual Art) discovered a shared fascination for film, photography, philosophy, architecture, design and art. It wasn’t until two years after they moved to Berlin, however, that they decided to unite their talents. They’ve never looked back since.
