Snarkitecture

Snarkitecture is a collaborative practice operating in territories between the disciplines of art and architecture. Working within existing spaces or in collaboration with other artists and designers, the practice focuses on the investigation of structure, material and program and how these elements can be manipulated to serve new and imaginative purposes. Searching for sites within architecture with the possibility for confusion or misuse, Snarkitecture aims to make architecture perform the unexpected.Snarkitecture was established by Alex Mustonen and Daniel Arsham.

Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

When it comes to showcasing Gareth Pugh fashion, I leave all the work behind and sit down to write this in a onebreathe. Hence the new Spring/Summer 2015 collection deeply reminds me the work of Leon Bakst but imagine he met Nosferatu or someone from the dark side of Pagan mythology, deep, dark and captivating. Gareth Pugh caused a stir for S/S 15 by eschewing his usual slot on the Paris Fashion Week schedule and kicking off New York Fashion Week with an immersive live experience, made in collaboration with Lexus. The event featured three short films that combined Pugh’s designs with performances by models, choreographed by Wayne McGregor. Filmmaker and artist Andrew Thomas Huang served as creative director. SHOWstudio is proud to exclusively release the films - Megalith, Chaos, and Ascension - alongside a gallery of images that show off Pugh's S/S 15 collection in detail.

Alexander Wang x H&M

Designcollector is being a bit fashionista these days visiting Aurora Fashion Week in St.Petersburg that we going to cover later. Meanwhile we extremely enjoyed the black tidal wave coming from Alexander Wang recent capsule collection for H&M "Tonight’s Alexander Wang x H&M show at the Armory on the Hudson, way uptown on 169th Street, began with a video. Isabeli Fontana did her best Keanu Reeves, performing Matrix-like stunts, while Joan Smalls played the daredevil on a snowboard. They had nothing, though, on the parkour guys who rappelled from the rafters to throw their bodies around on trampolines and show off their cores of steel. If you haven’t got the point by now of Wang’s collaboration with the Swedish fast-fashion giant (it’d be hard not to, what with the full-court press PR campaign), we’ll spell it out. Hard. Core. Sport. " via Style

Dressing The Screen identity

Bilingual Identity for a new international British Council exhibition Dressing the Screen: The Rise of Fashion Film. The work has been created by a Moscow-based trio of young designers Roma Lazarev, Kir Khachaturov and Vladislav Poliakov and recently won the Yellow Pencil at D&AD 2014 New Blood The basis of our concept is a well-known optical effect animating static images discovered in the early XIX century by a prominent English scientist Peter Mark Roger. Today it is mostly known as “motograph” or “scanimation”. This breakthrough played a significant role in the history of filmmaking. Inspired by the “motograph” effect and experimental photoworks by a great fashion photographer Erwin Blumenfeld, we created a special font and developed a system reflecting the high-fashion and moving image nature of the exhibition and reminding of the pioneering role that Great Britain played in the development of fashion film.

Interactive Fashion by The Unseen

"The air is made up of many different components that are products of our environment, including pollution, moisture, and more. London-based artist Lauren Bowker and her material exploration studio THE UNSEEN have developed a form of ink that’s reactive to the different fluctuations in the wind as well as our own body. It’s demonstrated in a couture capsule collection entitled Air, which was designed for Swarovski and presented during London’s Fashion Week 2014." via
