Samovar Tea Bar

Citing Leslie from Spotted SF, Samovar Tea Bar is a "..simply fresh, modern, white, concrete and ceramics heaven. That’s the first thing you’ll notice when you stop in. In fact the design of the space was actually inspired by the cups they serve their tea in. The owner first partnered with Oakland ceramists, Atelier Dion, to custom design the exquisite mugs for this location and the space began to build from there."

Nakagin Capsule Tower 1972

Photographer Noritaka Minami explores the architectural heritage of Tokio tells us a story of futuristic Nakagin Capsule Tower designed by Kisho Kurokawa in 1972. . As the first capsule apartment in history constructed for everyday use, the Nakagin Capsule Tower is considered the most ambitious attempt in implementing the principles of Metabolism (the movement aimed to formulate flexible designs that facilitate continual growth and renewal of architecture). This prototype for a new lifestyle for the 21st Century ultimately proved to be an exception rather than the rule. Now considered an obsolete model of living, the Nakagin Capsule Tower faces the threat of demolition to make way for a conventional apartment complex on the site. This photographic series below investigates the building as it faces an uncertain fate.

Spanish School Design in Valencia by Masquespacio

Masquespacio completed the interior design for 2Day Languages, a Spanish school in Valencia, Spain. The space is developed on an area of 183 square meters and contains three classrooms, a staff room and a lounge. Each of the classrooms and common rooms are a defragmentation from the brand identity of 2Day Languages and also incorporate parts of the Spanish language and the architecture of Valencia. The classrooms were imagined in the three brand colors, which in turn are a representation of the three levels A, B and C established by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, here seen as the colors blue, yellow and pink.
