INDOCHINE - Station 13

July 20, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

From the transatlantic slave trade in the 16th century to the conquest and subjugation of indigenous people in the 19th century to current race riots in major urban cities, the ideological pattern of intolerance, bigotry and prejudice has been omnipresent throughout history. This film depicts the representation of what initially appears to be ordinary men persecuted by society. Inspired by the paintings of Caravaggio, Peter Paul Rubens, and conflicts during the civil rights movement, “Station 13” follows the blows of extraordinarily public transgressions that shine a light on the cycle of confrontation of civil liberties and systemic racism. It’s about humanity’s ignorance and the fear of the unknown, which in turn acts as a powerful statement against prejudice. The film is set to “Station 13” by Indochine, a French rock and new wave band that has become one of the most popular French groups of the last thirty years.

Montelouro: Where technology meets nature

July 17, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

A stand for mobile devices which adapts to all models and that will help you and your family to do everything you love.

Montelouro is born of a love story between technology and nature. Between what we like to do and what we like to feel. The practical and the emotional. It is an object which adapts to your needs and reminds you where you come from.

“Our devices are part of our lives: they help us to communicate, to entertain ourselves, to learn, to work… What lies within them relates to us, to the world we create for ourselves. But what about the exterior? Everything is aseptic and cold; all is pure symmetry and perfection.”
— Montelouro

Montelouro is here to change that. Here to make your surroundings more natural, more human and relatable. That is why it is handcrafted in ceramic, and its design draws inspiration from nature and reflects the beauty of what is imperfect, what is real.

A stand for mobile devices which adapts to all models and that will help you and your family to do everything you love. From the moment the alarm goes off in the morning, until you fall asleep to your favorite tunes; and throughout the day while watching a film, looking for recipes, reading a book, video calling or just when you need to leave your devices somewhere safe as you disconnect for a while.

The Eye of Others

July 03, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

Virginia Woolf once wrote: 'The eyes of others our prisons; their thoughts our cages'

Between our slavish devotion to smart-phones and the messages they contain, there are few among us who feel happy with how these interactions pan out.

Activities that used to be ends in their own right, have become the means to an end that is often unknown. The greatest pyramid scheme ever sold?

This short is about one man's split-second decision to break out. Reminding himself in an instant, of both the free spirit he was brought up to be, and the social-media drone he fears he has become. Sound familiar?

Light Wind Land

July 02, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

"I escaped the hustle and bustle of Hanoi and explored a magic land hidden in its parks -often placed around the many lakes- and that I found to be beautifully decadent. After a long workday and before the sun hides, Hanoians run to these green bubbles and enjoy themselves under the gentle winds."

Timka Szőke Art

June 08, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

Timka Szőke is a Hungarian artist. She was born in Budapest - Hungary. She studied in Secondary School of Visual Arts, where she studied sculpture. Then she studied stained glass design and enamel design in Simultaneous Fine Arts School. She was graduated from Metropolitan University's Art faculty as graphic designer in 2013.
Her versatility unfold in illustration, lead glass design and photography.

he nature is art itself. Not only the universe, but the main source of inspiration. The nature is impressive, captivating, with all its elements perfect. Nature affects all artistic trends - be it fine arts, architecture, photography, film or anything else - always brings harmony. Like everyone else, it always fills her with positive energy, which is reflected in her works - her artworks and her photos.

Nature is rich in various colors, shapes and materials, in which we find so many possibilities. It is almost incomprehensible, indescribable and inexplicable, the fact that we exist in it. There is always an amazing feeling about how each element of nature is intertwined.
She attempt to give this feeling back to her pictures.

She had always of various surrealistic ideas, tales, legends, mythologies.
As a child she was looking at classical illustrations with great admiration. The stories have always drawn her into drawings, like a black hole in the solar system. With a very small head of a child, she decided that she would deal with this as an adult. As time went by she did not give up her dream and she persisted. She is always open to new things, experimenting, she likes to acquire new knowledge that she can combine in her works. When she studied lead glass design, it helped a lot in knowing this profession for the birth of a variety of new ideas. She made several stained glasses style pictures, because the beauty of this art industry was very impressed. She find it stunning as these solid, fragile, thin materials form a particular scene or figure, and the light that's filtered through it makes it magical.

Her artworks are inspired by the antique art trends, most notably Renaissance, Expressionism, Baroque, Symbolism and Art Noveaou in addition the comics. She likes to combine old styles with new trends.
Her characters carry a natural, special beauty. She loves to display the facial mimicry that she spices with natural charm in her works. Because the grimace is special in every face, which tells playfulness, shyness and honesty about their owners, therefore she likes to use her some pictures.
She works in pop surrealistic style. The classic, natural beauty characterizes the characters of her artworks.

Kontroll

June 07, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

Russian designer Vasily Shikhachevskiy shares his newest short animated film about typography, technology, music and personal disorder. The short was composed from 3 parts made for a festival

vox-kontroll.png

"First part is about technology that slowly and unnoticeably replaces old and various forms with the new ones which is very similar. It's about loosing personality."

vox-kontroll3.png
vox-kontroll2.png

"Second part is about artificial intelligence which becomes more and more complicated and someday will become a very human like. With all our modern behavior, days spent on social network, reposting, resharing content which were made long ago by some other people. Can we still produce something original? Are we still a humans?"

"Last part is more about feelings. I wanted to capture the "calling" of the street, of flashing signs, of loud music, of machines. This one definitely inspired by "enter the void" and "Akira"

Hair Affairs – A Tool for Whimsical Minds

June 01, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

This rather weird design brings out people’s strange side. The brushes’ anthropomorphic design intelligently humors its owners while promoting generosity towards people’s quirks, follies and cravings. The tools celebrate absurdity and the complexity of our emotional needs and may actually be used or add playfulness and exhilaration to any room when utilized as wall decorations. A statement against any impoverished views of what it means to be human, the project is for quizzical minds with a mischievous sense of humor, charm, whimsy and wit.

Originally the brushes were conceived by then art student Dearbhaile Heaney in 2006 at Goldsmiths University, London. Later, her colleague Helge Simon reached her out to ask for the permissions to continue with the project that he is running now through Kickstarter platform

Breathe

May 01, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

Rachel wakes up and quickly realizes something is wrong...

“We were one of 6 teams given 6 weeks to create a mysterious and suspenseful short film. The films were screened two weeks later to illustrate what different artists can do with 6 weeks. The teams were randomly assembled, and most team members are beginners and hobbyists. With our limited experience, resources, and time we decided to aim for a simple story that was manageable and included the common suspense and mystery tropes: detective, villain, and the perfect crime.”

STYX

April 19, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018

Floz Studio is a creative studio founded in 2010, we are specialized in branding, edition and artistic direction. Since one year, we have started making video. Styx is our last project.

The film is a sensual and minimalist representation of the Styx, the mythological hell’s river. A metaphor, about how we embrace our demons and how ideas, social contexts or states of mind can stick us into immobility. Being trapped in a condition infiltrate our subconscious, which constrain us to move forward. The river still flows in each of us and the battle to free ourself from this struggling, will never end.

April 18, 2018 by Arseny Vesnin in 2018
