Geographer - Summer Of My Discontentment

May 14, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019

Director Patrick Mattes shares his latest music video: “Geographer’s “Summer of my Discontentment” is a music video about the moments in between. This video was shot over the course of a day and a half with 4 friends running around greater Los Angeles. We wanted this video to be an organic representation of adolescence, growing up, and the moments that help define us as human beings. To keep the filming aspect of this video as organic as possible we shot everything with a documentary style. Allowing the friends to exist in a space and capturing moments that made them unique.”

Yumi Zouma - In Camera

March 16, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019

Two teenagers have a date one night when their parents are out of town. The young lady wants to impress our young man with a surprise performance… and ends up taking it to a whole other level. The boy is caught off guard and feels awkward but it all works out in the end.

Yumi Zouma are a dream-pop band from New Zealand. Based in different cities around the world, the band collaborate online, and meet to play live. Following on from the success of their second album “Willowbank”, the band released the short four-track “EP III” in late 2018.

In Camera” was the first single from the EP, and has become one of the band’s most triumphant tracks, garnering large-scale plays on streaming services and quickly becoming a fan favourite. Written over the course of five years, the roots of ‘In Camera’ stem from one of the band’s very first ideas - an effervescent guitar riff that juxtaposes minimalist production, reflective vocal melodies, and a driving bassline reminiscent of the band’s earliest material.

Shura - BKLYNLDN

March 12, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019

Almost three years on since the release of her debut, Shura has returned with new track ‘BKLYNLDN’.

This recreation of Rodin’s classic artwork ’The Kiss’ with female subjects challenges the viewer to see the true essence of romantic love between two people, no matter their gender.

“With ‘BKLYNLDN’ I wanted to explore having both a sonic & lyrical evolution. It’s about desire - playing with the idea of it being all consuming and at times overwhelming. It starts with the immediacy of physical desire - ‘this isn’t love’ and yet as the song unfolds that sentiment begins to unravel; I am clearly in love and instead of my girlfriend coming to London, I end up moving Brooklyn. I wanted to capture that reversal and for me that section feels like my summer, skipping through Brooklyn, holding hands with my girlfriend and singing out loud without caring about how stupid you look.”

Smoky Mo - Moziarty

March 11, 2019 by Arseny Vesnin in 2019

The 16mm short music film for the single ‘MOZIARTY’ by Smoky Mo explores the concepts of originality of the artist’s voice in a copy-paste and hype-chasing world.
Each quatrain of a song is represented by a single shot scene that the viewer gets to see only once as a part of a video puzzle of subtext driven imagery.

Concept & direction: Andrey Trevgoda
Cinematographer: aleksandr dmitriev
