Since 2003
Immersive were approached by Foster and Partners to design an installation that deserved to represent the new Comcast Technology Centre. We had to create an installation that was refined yet strong enough to sit next to the work of Jenny Holtzer and Conrad Shawcross, with the added element of being an experiential installation that must actively excite and engage the people of Philadelphia in a unique and future-proof manner.
AKQA Future Lions, now in its 14th year, is the official student ideas competition for the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. The 2019 competition encourages students to break through perceived limits, connecting brands with audiences in new ways. This year’s contest attracted over 1,000 entries from a record 444 schools, across 71 nations.
Despite the socially neutral brief entries from all over the world have consistently revealed a growing emphasis on ideas themed around societal progress, contribution and positive impact.
AKQA founder and CEO Ajaz Ahmed said: “The inspiration and motivations of the entrants demonstrate today’s youth is potentially the most powerful, but under-utilised, resource on Earth.”
Apple Watch is used to detect a seizure, and Siri then provides step-by-step instructions to guide bystanders - who may otherwise feel powerless or afraid - to assist the patient, thus showing the potential for wearable technology to help both the wearer and those around them.

A necklace device uses AI to recreate the voice of a patient that has lost their natural voice, and syncs this with the patient’s mouth movements and gestures, to recreate the patient’s full range of vocal expression and emotion.

Light-based disinfection technology is integrated into McDonald’s touch-screen service points, and customers are prompted to high-five the screen after ordering, which sterilises their hands before eating, in a simple and fun way.

Miami Ad School is named Future Lions 2019 School of the Year, having provided the most shortlisted finalists, including Epilepsy Watch Out.
The three winning teams plus Miami Ad School were each awarded a Future Lions 2019 trophy, live on stage in the Debussy Theatre at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, on Tuesday 18th June. The creative community VSCO and emerging-technology magazine WIRED are the official partners for Future Lions 2019, and the award ceremony was hosted by VSCO chief marketing officer Tesa Aragones and AKQA managing partner Sam Kelly.
Ev Kozak is a Polish born, London based fashion illustrator who creates digital drawings on an iPad. Her artwork is a dialog between the old and the new - staying true to traditional forms of illustration and contextualising it within today’s world of technology. Ev’s illustrations oscillate between elongated, Giacometti-like silhouettes straight from the runway, as well as more abstract, minimal sketches often centered around one single line.
One of the latest Ev’s work was featured in Vogue as a part of New Cover challenge when artists from all over the world reimagine the portrait in their own styles.
Warrior with a Crown is the first work co-directed by model Francesco Cuizza (Storm Management) and LA-based photographer and filmmaker JMP (Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, XXXTentacion), in collaboration with jewellery designer Ugo Cacciatori.
Warrior with a Crown takes the viewer on the journey of becoming aware that fear and failure are but manmade illusions. The short film addresses how our need to conquer is just a fight with ourselves, with the journey itself becoming the real conquest.
Shot in Malibu (California) on the beach in the eerie early hours of the day, the film employs movement and an original choreography to unfold its narrative. As viewers we are presented with two different types of failures. The first brings a man to his knees, overwhelmed by his lack of experience and knowledge. But the second time failure does not fell the man; he has learnt from his mistakes and is able to stand once again, aware that he has become a warrior capable of withstanding the challenges of life.
“Warrior with a Crown is something different. We decided to work with voice-over in relation to body movements in order to engage the viewers and take them on an artistic inner journey. The film is based on the belief that failure is the fuel for one’s success and is looking to express the weight that every person must carry in an ongoing quest to excel in life”

Abstracters Anonymous by Daniela Olejnikov is a project, series of posters based on trashy glitch art aesthetics, visual poetry, pop fiction movies. It deals with the themes of online anonymity, crime, abuse, secret cults, corporate terrorist groups and their hidden techniques of modern cybernetic psycho-terror methods within the bases of present psychological warfare.
