Audrey a short film based on a Chuck Palahniuk story

March 09, 2016 by Arseny Vesnin

Alex Grybauskas: "I discovered Chuck Palahniuk (writer of Fight Club among many great novels) as a budding film student in 2004 and he quickly became my favorite author. His use of language and style and larger-than-life characters have inspired my own creations for years.

This is my ode to his work, an adaptation of a little known short story he wrote 25 years ago called "Negative Reinforcement". It was the first work he ever had published, in a 1990 issue of Modern Short Stories. It's a hyper-stylized look into the way we fantasize about and pass judgement on strangers based on the briefest of physical clues."

Goddess of Glorious Mistakes

February 29, 2016 by Arseny Vesnin

Artist Gillian Keller shares her latest project "Enlightenment Barbie" (Instagram)

I create my own religious icons, inspired by moments of my own unusual spiritual journey and the traditions that I became familiar with along the way. My artwork is based in my photography of women, and are multi-layered collages of hand-cut flowers, butterflies, foils, and figures. Most of my pieces are 36×36" and finished with resin.
