Wembley Park, London, reveals new public realm light-artworks by Jason Bruges Studio to revamp Royal Route

Along the Royal Route, so-called because it was the historic way the royal family entered Wembley Park for public engagements and commemorative events, internationally-recognised artist and designer Jason Bruges has created bespoke, interactive artworks called Royal Wave and Shadow Wall.

Shadow Wall by Jason Bruges is an interactive piece that allows residents and visitors to play with their own ‘shadows.’ The monochromatic installation is light sensitive so it is only ‘on’ as people pass by and interact with it

Royal Wave by Jason Bruges has been installed on the balustrades of the Royal Route. As crowds approach the underpass from the north or south, they are greeted by a bespoke 3D wave, generated from portraits of local community members. The images change and move based on the observer’s movement in relation to them, inspired by lenticular optical techniques and the photography of Eadweard Muybridge.

A digital artwork, Crossover, by architectural design collective miriamandtom has been installed at the newly refurbished Bobby Moore Bridge. Custom LED displays designed by Dixon Jones and Speirs + Major and bespoke installation by The Light Lab have given the bridge a whole new look.
