A project management tool for the modern freelancer.

Read further on site to enter the giveaway

A lot of online tools seem to lack style and individuality. Formed in 2008, Thrive is a company which aims to stand out from the crowd with a vision of creating beautiful and user-friendly web and mobile applications.

Solo, which is Thrive’s first project to date, is an all-in-one project management tool for freelancers and is built on the ideal of combining great functionality and beautiful design.

Solo is a tool which is made by designers, for freelancers. Not only does this show in its design, which centers on the use of elegant typography, but also in its functionality. The app has a crisp and clean aesthetic, which helps to present data in a visual way, making it far easier to digest than scouring through complex spreadsheets.

It’s a great all-in-one tool covering project management, invoicing, timesheets/time tracking and other basic financial business stats. Because of its integrated nature, Solo makes projects so much easier to manage than other apps of its type. Solo does all of this with a visual swagger, with simple to understand graphs giving easy access to your business data.

Silhouette and eclipse levitating lamps

Crealev company, creators of the levitating lamp, have designed two new floating lamps.

Silhouette lamp The lamps levitate and illuminate thanks to the latest LED and electromagnetic technology, which also means they are extremely low in power consumption. Available in two dimmable models, Silhouette and Eclipse, the Silhouette design is based on the iconic table lamp and contrasts ultramodern technology with an almost antique appearance.

Eclipse lamp The Eclipse, with a straight-sided shade and solid geometric form, is most reminiscent of this natural levitating phenomenon when viewed from above "yet, delicacy is incorporated in the design through the hand-blown glass foot."

Be Your Own Souvenir

To take part in ‘Be Your Own Souvenir’, participants are asked to stand on a small podium and strike a pose for a few minutes while a three-dimensional model of their body is scanned by three Kinects (hacked Xbox 360 interfaces with 3D depth sensors). The data is then passed to a 3D printer, and rendered in low-res plastic from the feet up – all within fifteen minutes. via Eye Mag
