Hope to Nope

  • Design Museum 224-238 Kensington High Street London, England, W8 6AG United Kingdom (map)

An exhibition Hope to Nope at London’s Design Museum looks at the past decade (2008 to 2018), and how political graphic design has reflected and influenced turbulent times. The title refers to the Shepard Fairey Obama poster turned Trump meme, and the graphic emblems for campaigns Je Suis Charlie and the Umbrella Revolution are among those featured. Graphic iconography and the rise of the meme and digital media are explored, and the exhibition is in three sections, Power, Protest and Personality.
