After the awful earthquake that recently hit the country of Chile, designers have organized to raise funds to donate to the different entities that are helping rebuild the country.
How? "Design for Chile" have an all-star lineup from all over the globe who have generously agreed to make custom prints that will be sold within 4 weeks through our website worldwide. "Design for Chile" will release a more complete site soon with profiles, interviews and such.
Also, "Design for Chile" will hold an exhibition here in Chile showcasing all collaborations.
Since we know you all have that inner fire to create, "Design for Chile" are holding an open call to submit your graphic piece.
Every piece submitted will be part of their online gallery and the exhibition. But they will choose 15 that will be added to the shop, side by side with all other international guests.

To boldly use what no man has used before - the design competition that spawned DustMate Shoes and the FlatShare fridge announces 2010 theme.
Electrolux Design Lab 2010 invites design students to compete for a six-month paid internship and prize money by submitting ideas that consider shrinking domestic spaces. The brief specifically seeks solutions that address how people will prepare and store food, wash clothes, and do dishes in the homes of 2050, when 74%* of the global population are predicted to live in an urban environment.
“Now in its eight year, Electrolux Design Lab offers the designers of tomorrow an opportunity to test themselves and gain valuable insight in to the world of commercial product design” says Henrik Otto, SVP of Global Design at Electrolux. “This year we’re looking for concepts that consider the way we use domestic space. The ideas need to be green, adaptive to time and space and allow for individualization.”
September finals in London
Eight finalists will be invited to participate in the final event in London to present their entries to a jury of expert designers. The jury will consider entries based on intuitive design, innovation and consumer insight when awarding the first prize of a six-month paid internship at an Electrolux global design centre and 5,000 Euros. A second prize of 3,000 Euros and third prize of 2,000 Euros are also on offer.
Клуб арт-директоров России начал приём работ на конкурс ADCR Awards 2010. Конкурс это ежегодное соревнование лучших работ из области дизайна и рекламы.
Соревнования проводятся во множестве дисциплин, которые можно условно разделить на четыре группы: Дизайн, Реклама, Медиа и Интерактив. А так же - «Молодые креаторы» - поединки среди перспективных "легковесов" в возрасте до 25 лет. Работы принимаются по 13 номинациям. Рассматриваются различные форматы и направления, такие как ТВ и видео, печатная, наружная, социальная реклама, интегрированные кампании, графический дизайн, промо, etc.

Designcollector became an official media sponsor of European Design Awards 2010 Competition and Festival.
The doors are now open to all graphic designers to compete for European Design Stars; the trophies handed out each year at the ED Awards ceremony. For the fourth successive year, ED Awards invites visual communication professionals to submit their works to the finest pan-European judging panel. Categories include branding; posters; typeface; book & editorial illustration; motion graphics; packaging; promotional sites; annual reports, etc. Fourteen editors from leading European graphic design magazines will judge the entries and reward the best designs.
The winners, including the ‘Jury’s Prize’ and the ‘Agency of the Year’ will be announced at the ED Festival which, this year, will be held in the city of Rotterdam between May 28 - 30, 2010.

Хорошо подобранный шрифт или элемент оформления не останутся незамеченными. Оценивать работы будет группа известных профессиональных дизайнеров. Они из разных ателье, у них разное мировоззрение и разные подходы, но в одном они едины: если работа хорошая, они непременно ее отметят. DeFile — это показ лучших дизайнерских работ Лучшая отрецензированная работа получает статус «работы дня» и в определенный день вывешивается на главной странице DeFile. Ее автор срывает заслуженные аплодисменты, обретает всенародную славу и почет среди профессионалов!
