Have you ever asked yourself what you know about the sixth part of Earth – Russia? I bet you can shout out the set of keywords no matter what they are. Today I’m going to reveal quite obscure part of the creative Russia, the hidden force of graphics and arts – Russian illustrators (but we are not going to focus only on Russians next time). They draw at night, drink out tons of imported coffee, smoke cigarettes and never get drunk because they are smart, creative and very talented persons. I start the first episode in “Designcollector Masters” section with the the most talented illustrator and will continue to reveal each of them in next posts.
Miumau (Yana Frank), Berlin based Russian illustrator. I don’t know when she started drawing, but to the time I got my hands on the internet, and that about 10 years ago, she had already run successful website at www.miu-mau.org. Her style and artistic manners passed through decade and became much stronger. Yana is famous not only for her artworks but for her books and blogs where she teaches creative persons how to overcome difficulties, how to get inspiration and not to lose your Muse. For the last five years she have been working with the largest design studio in Russia formed by Artemy Lebedev and brought her own style to the development of commercial illustration. Her impact on Russian illustration world is very strong and positive and I’m very proud to present her creative senses to you.
